This is a most grand cathedral and very much worth visiting. Also a cool place to relax out od the heat!

This is simply a fabulous example of a Gothic cathedral. Don't forget to visit the crypt. The organ sounds wonderful. I happened to be there when he was rehearsing.

The stained glass was beautiful. Very light and bright inside unlike so many churches/cathedrals we've visited that are dark.

Another beautiful master piece of landmark history dating back to the 13th Century, it only took close to about 4 centuries to build...! But with all that detail of Gothic Art, it is no wonder!A place well worth the visit.

The title means its calmness. You know what, many famous cathedrals are busy and noise, which make me feel like being in not churches but markets. Notre dame Paris, Saint Paul London, Basilica di SnaPietro Vatican, La Sagrada familia Barcelona...Comparing to them, this is smaller but when I got there it was not busy but very calm. Peaceful~~I think it was darker than the others. No entrance fee.

I have never been so bored in all my life! Seriously people this is 2014 and to sit there in the dark and listen to a boring audio tape of poor quality is too much to ask. The "light" show is non existent. These people need to go to Sens and see how it is done there. It is awesome and free!Do not waste your money here!

Typical of its kind but slightly quirky because technically it is still not finished. Helpful staff.

Without a doubt, the biggest waste of time. Many walked out. It's 1:15 hr of complete and utter boredom. The church itself is fine for a visit during the day. I'd rate church at a "excellent"

After seeing some magnificent catherdals all over France, this was a major disappointment.nearly half the windows have been replaced by either plain glass or simple stained windows, so the effect is completely lost. The place seemed souless - bit like the town its self

We never need an excuse to visit a cathedral. And by now we have seen so many that we feel able to compare. Auxerre's cathedral showed indeed an abundance of light. Someone played the organ, for extra atmosphere. The organ itself was kind of like a Stalin-organ but sound was good. The wooden doors were remarkably unspoiled. There was the usual statue of Jeanne d'Arc. But the unusual thing was that she was supposed to have been there herself. Which gave the place that little extra something. And again: good to have seen it.

Although a bit of a walk up the hill from the river on a hot day, it was worth the walk. Interesting history and enjoyed the cloisters and the crypt with its old ruins.

This Cathedrale was beautiful! You can see it right when you drive into Auxerre, Burgundy. We were the only ones in it and were able to walk through as we pleased. The town surrounding it is equally quaint.

Auxerre's cathedral is a feast of what we Brits would call Early English architecture with the odd bit of Perpendicular thrown in. Think lots of tracery and long lines, with clerestory and triforium, side chapels, massive nave, and a wonderful organ with sets of pipes en chamade. An absolute must!

Had a quick walk through this cathedral. Very beautiful and a nice sight to see when it comes to cathedrals.

If you're limited for time in Auxerre, I would put the cathedral at the top of the sightseeing list. Parking is available immediately adjacent.
