You can discover Ste Barbe from below, a stiff climb from Le Faouet or the valley, or from the top. Arriving at the carpark, you see the guardian's house and the small belfry, and then you discover the chapel clinging to the hill side. This is a place to visit in all seasons, to see the chapel, a favorite spot for wedding photos as it is so romantic, or go for walks along the river in the spectacular deep valley - bring strong shoes or wellies.The chapel has a unique history and is such a mysterious hidden spot that it should not be missed on a visit to the area.

A beautiful chapel set below a solid rock formation. Note if you have mobility issues that it is quite a long flight of stairs to reach the chapel. Don't forget to visit the Fontaine set further down in the valley

Unfortunately there was building work (we think expansion) going on when we arrived so the cafe was closed. However, we had a fantastic walk down to the river Elle by Karim's bar (on the Priziac road out of le faouet) and then back up again the gentler route. This is well worth a visit any time

This chapel is beautiful. Just thinking about how they managed to build it where it is, is amazing. The little bar is also very welcome, especially if you have walked up from the foot of St Barbe by the river. Do not miss this Chapel, it is well worth the visit.

We love coming to this old church which is set surprisingly on the steep hillside and has marvellous walks down to the river below through green and untouched forests. From the top and near the bell tower one has great views over the local countryside.

the town of Le Faouët stands quietly in northwest Morbihan. Lots to see in the surrounding area with the beautiful coastline and beachs near. Lovely places to eat particularly if you are fond of Crepes. The whole are is very beautiful and steeped in history.Hired a gite via Brittany Ferris and explored

Perfect for a picnic, with a bar seeling coffees & snacks. The walk to the fountain and on the the river is well worth it.

....It is to do with sailors! and firemen. Quite an incredible site and amazing windows, once you can actually get inside to see them. There is a bell house first which (I'm told) if you can ring the bell three times you will get married soon??? The church itself is set into the hillside/mountain and when you consider the time that it was built, it is quite something. When I first visited a man called george ran a bar/creperie right next to the church - it may well be an ice cream parlour now although hopefully not a cheap burger joint! Worth a quick visit if you are in the area and there are some lovely walks. Take a picnic, enjoy the surroundings. Toilets there too.

Attention au courant, essayez le surf, paddle, Kite-surf... Sauvage, nature, assez propre... Pas de béton à Sainte Barbe et des dolmens partout autour.

Incroyable chapelle accroché à la falaise, à noter la possibilité de faire sonner la cloche. L'ambiance est mystique on s attend à croiser des korrigans lorsqu'on descend à la fontaine

A visiter si vous aimez les grands espaces et les balades en foret. Si vous avez la chance d'y tester la grimpe d'arbres n'hésitez pas, j'y vais depuis ma plus tendre enfance et je ne m'en lasse pas!

Site idéal pour une belle balade au grand air dans un cadre pittoresque.Une visite à ne pas râter lors d'une excursion en Centre Bretagne.

Petite promenade digestive le 25 décembre dans l apres midi.Très bel endroit, avec la rivière en contre bas ! Et si vous faite un tour complet en revenant à La Chapelle, une belle taverne rénovée l hiver dernier vous ouvre ses portes pour vous proposer boissons chaudes ou fraîches. Avec un bon feu de cheminée, un accueil chaleureux et une décoration soignée, vous passerez un agréable moment !

Un point de vue panoramique sur le canton, la rivière qui coule en contrebas à laquelle l'on accède par une forêt enchanteresse, sans oublier de passer par la fontaine qui offrirait fertilité à celle qui parviendraient à jeter une aiguille dans sa fente. N'oubliez pas de sonner la cloche. Un lieu plein d'histoire, réelles ou à inventer.
