baou de saint jeannet

I'm exhausted but it was well worth it.This walk is varied and not for the faint hearted.The views throughout are spectacular.Will definitely be doing it again when my thigh muscles have recovered!

The mountain is well-known in the area, and its distinct features can be spotted from far away. Go through St Jeannet for a 1 hour hike up the mountain with a wonderful view of the whole valley from Nice to St Paul, Vence and Antibes. If the weather is very clear it is even possible to get a glimpse of Corsica!

The Baou de Saint-Jeannet is the most striking of the 4 Baous Mountains that stretch from Vence to Gattières. It is a well known spot in France for mountain climbing, along the southern cliffs of the mountain, but it is also a delightful 3 hour hike from the scenic village of Saint-Jeannet through scented mediterranean bushes, along the Peyron valley and up to the flat, limestone top of the mountain. The view from the top is spectacular.

We ate there several times during our visit to the area. High quality and delicious food. One evening we had eaten our main meal at another restaurant, but had to return here for dessert. Local foods used and local olive oil on the table. This restaurant should be on your must visit list.

Not be a regular hike and knowing that the vertical ascent is quite significant for the flatlander that I am, my wife and I were very please to have taken our time and reached the summit. Wow! The view is wonderful - down to the village below and out to the sea where the Cap d'Antibes is visible in the distance. Encountering a large herd of goats coming down the trail added to what was already a most welcomed break from city life.

fantastic walk up the Baou and rewarded with an awesome view of Nice and beyond from the top. Do your walk with a guide ( The Frog's House do guided walks and it is well worth it )

Very nice hike, a little steep. But the reward is all in the following view. You have a Nice view over the whole area. Good hike with kids. I did the hike in 40 min with some friends, and in 1 hour with my 8 year old daughter. One way. The route is very clearly marked.

Go up there and bring some wine and food! The trail is steep so wear sturdy shoes. Spend time at the top to take in the views.

Este pueblito ubicado a unos minutos de Niza, es adorable, nada pretencioso. Las callecitas muy pequeñas, te obligan a estacionar en un libre estacionamiento (límite de dos horas) justo antes de entrar a la plaza principal, cuando ya ves al iglesia, pero siempre que vayas en temporada baja, en plena temporada alta deberás esstacionar abajo, en los estacionamientos pagos.Lo hermoso de este lugar es la vista. Enmarcado por un enorme peñon detrás, llamado Le Baou y una expandida y bellisima vista de la Costa Azul y sus pueblitos, vas a disfrutar de las sorpresas de su vista panorámica. El lugarcito es ENCANTADOR. SI solo vas a recorrer el pueblito te llevará menos de una hora, si vas a hacer trekking a Le Baou, deberás averiguar mejor cuanto tiempo te lleva esta caminata.

ne pas hésiter à grimper au sommet par les sentiers ....la ballade est superbe et le point de vue mémorable

En toute saison, mais éviter quand meme les apres midi d'ete car il fait tres chaud. Panorama sublime.

Très jolie balade à faire dans les préalpes maritimes. Vous y accédez depuis le village de St. Jeannet que vous traversez jusqu'au lavoir. Vous grimpez les escaliers tout à côté, le sentier est large, accessible à tout un chacun. Vous êtes au milieu de la garrigue avec ses parfums odorants. Comptez 2h15 aller-retour. Lorsque vous êtes au sommet, peut-être aurez-vous le plaisir de croiser un berger avec son troupeau. La vue est splendide. Par temps clair, vous apercevez la Corse.

La vue de la-haut est tout simplement divine .... Le sentier est accessible à tous marcheurs, enfants et adultes.

Randonnée à la portée de tous avec une vue magnifique à l'arrivée.possibilité d'y accéder seul ou avec un guide comme Benoit de "the Frog house" à st Jeannet.Il partage ses connaissances et sa passion de la région avec simplicité et sincérité.

Genial ! Il faut y monter, la vue y est magnifique...Randonnée sans trop de difficulté, à faire plutôt le matin en été car peu ombragé.En montant tranquillement, il faut environ 1h30 pour arriver au sommet.Le plateau est un vrai "havre de paix".
