Just a pity that you need to go there for a show as the opera house is not open for visits (except during special open doors days) because opear house in Toulon is one of the most ancient in France and most of the furnitures inside are from the origins!

Yesterday afternoon I attended Ariane A Naxos. in Toulon. Evening performances start later in France so there can be a problem with late transport. However Sunday performances for each production overcomes this. Opera rarely starts on time , hence the slow hand clap, except yesterday, but there were rows of empty seats. Entry is usually slow because every ticket holder is escorted to their seat. Finding your seat in the upper level is difficult . Stall seats are the most comfortable with high backs and excellent views. Tip up seats are also sold on the end of rows where you are perched above everyone else ! It is still the habit to tip the usherette, although I have been told this practice had died out. Don't be surprised to see fireman in full uniform throughout the theatre, a common site in Italy as well as France. The auditorium can be overheated and uncomfortable. I have sat in shirt sleeves in the middle of December . At the end of an opera audiences usually engage in rhythmic mass applause which can be long lasting, which I find distasteful since it gives no weight to merit of the production or individual singers. Yesterday's production was clear and straightforward without any gimmicks, sung in German with French sur-titles . Maybe not a beginners opera. Standard of singing is usually high with many young singers at the start of their careers . Productions are often shared with other companies.

A beautiful, original 19th century opera-house, designed by Garnier who later designed the famous Opera Garnier in Paris. Absolutely necessary to book for operas and some concerts. Friendly staff and good facilities for the disabled. Pleasant surroundings.

well worth visiing this beautiful old opera house for a classical concert, an opera or a fantastic Sondheim production of Follies, which is why we visited. -A Stunning spectacle

The Opera Toulon is the most beautiful Opera House, I attended a production of Stephen Sondheim's FOLLIES and the quality of the production was first class. Any theatre lover will relish an evening in this jewel of a venue, quite beautiful.

ein klassischer Bau, gepflegt. Die Rundführung zeigte das "Innenleben" des Baus. Besonderheiten gab es keine. Ganz nett, aber man kann die Zeit besser verbringen.

Красивое монументальное здание ванильного цвета с интересным оформлением, расположено поблизости площади Свободы и галереи магазинов. Перед оперой стоит масса столиков кафе, где можно не спеша попить кофе с красивым видом. Наверное, приходить сюда вечером особенно интересно, когда включается подсветка.

Je suis abonné depuis de nombreuses années et si le prix des places à beaucoup augmenté eu 2014 ,la programmation aussi a fait un saut qualitatif. La direction musicale est au top et la programmation 2015 de grande qualité. Je parlais du prix des places en augmentation pour un abonnement en loge mais comment pourrait il en être autrement lorsque l'on considère qu'un opéra est constitué de décors , de costumes , d'un orchestre , de chanteurs , etc...,et que chaque représentation est un spectacle unique .

Belle diversité de spectacles mais attention le confort est rudimentaire si l'on se trouver sur les balcons. Si vous êtes grands préférer les places en loge sinon cela tourne vite à la galère les genoux touchent le dossier devant.....

Toulon possède un superbe opéra, et chaque année c 'est un régal ,avec une programmation toujours à la hauteur aussi bien pour l'Opéra que pour les concerts.mélomanes vous n'avez aucune excuse pour ne pas venir

Il n'est pas rare de voir l'opéra de Toulon portes ouvertes. Vous pouvez ainsi découvrir l'intérieur, et écouter la musique et les chants. Pour les profanes comme moi, c'est l'endroit parfait pour un premier contact avec l'opéra. On peut ensuite se promener dans les rues alentours, où résonne la musique venant de l'opéra, notamment la rue de Pomet, où l'on peut aussi admirer des façades et portes du 17ème siècle...

un très bel opéra Garnier en Provence la fresque du plafond est éblouissante dommage que la vue sur la rade n'est pu se faire la placette en dessous sent la Provence

Si il y a à Toulon un lieu incontournable c'est ici en plein centre l'opéra de Toulon est magnifique , il est implanté au centre d'une joli place et il invite au réunion conviviales et sociales...

Лично мне Тулон совсем не понравился. Возможно, все дело в том, что был я там зимой, когда на улице хоть и светило солнце, но было +8.Несмотря на холодную погоду, город не радует красивой и вычурной архитектурой. На этом фоне здание Оперы смотрится шикарно! Площадь перед зданием тоже уютная, можно посидеть в какой-нибудь кафешке.
