We were glad we made the effort to support this small museum and some of the artifacts were interesting but we should have heeded other tripadvisor feedback - everything is in french and unless your language skills are good and you're prepared to read lots of lengthy written text and newspaper articles then you should probably give this one a miss. It was a shame as we were genuinely interested in the resistance but came away none the wiser.

This seemed to be more of a 2nd World War history rather than a history of the resistance. There were a few interesting exhibits but nothing very specific to do with Paris and the resistance. There was a film but, again, this was a general overview.

This museum is small enough to be manageable, and large enough to knock you out. The story of WWII and the French Resistance is a fascinating, tragic, and vital part of the history of the world and a look inside the French character that any visitor to France should try to understand. My expat cousin, who makes it a point not cross the ring road out of Paris if she can help it, drove me and my husband over at my request and was not disappointed. It was so enlightening to see things I had only read about, to understand the many ways the French Resistance worked and stayed alive. The artifacts donated by ex-Resistance fighters really brings the history alive in a very personal way. You will be changed after a visit here.It helps to have a French speaker/reader with you, as this is obviously not a place many foreigners visit. All the signage is in French, and the volunteers at the museum that day didn't speak English. Don't expect to find a nice little bistro to eat at afterwards, as this is in a rather plain suburb.

This is a very small section of the Army Museum, not well advertised. It took me a map, and a little bit of asking to find it. When I did it was great. The displays are all in French, no translations, but this is the NATIONAL Resistance Museum, for the people of the French Republic. But the artifacts were enough to keep me interested. On the second floor is the section called "Deportation", that was a pretty powerful series of displays... I took no pictures, as I feel that the things covered in that section is something that everyone should see for themselves.
