We went here in September 2014 as a family with a toddler and a baby. It was quiet (not surprisingly, bearing in mind the time of year). We really enjoyed the car trip around the Safari Park. The food that we got was not the best, but we did opt for the fast food option. I think you can take your own pic-nic and we didn't have a lot of choice, as a lot was closed (again-season). We would highly recommend a visit here.
Well worth the visit. A real feeling of being on a safari, with a wealth of wild animals to see close up and admire. The visit is mostly by car and can be very long in high summer with "traffic jams", but there are a few areas where you can get out and stretch your legs. Apart from the normal safari visit, there is a wild area that you explore on foot, but I didn't see this, for lack of time; and there's a great dolphin show. I thoroughly reccommend a family visit. Children love it, so do adults.
We spent a day here as part of our campsite holiday and it was really quite good. Our two young children sat up the front of our car for the trip around and thoroughly enjoyed it. Feeding the animals out the window was a highlight as were the cheeky goats at the mid way picnic spot. The dolphin show was a bit hit and miss really and if we didn't see it, it would have made little difference overall. Kids under three go free which made it good value for us. If you had older children it's something like €26 for adults and €21 for children. That would be a bit pricey for what you get and I'd have reservations about going again if I had to fork out close to €100 at the gate!
We went here and were blown away by the amount to do and see!Leave money in your budget for this its worth the price! Also try go on a cool cloudy day, sitting in a car for the entire safari nearly made us kill eachother it was almost 30degrees!Animals are amazing - to feed a zebra from your window is an experience money cant buy and the other parks are just as good! Also bring a picnic! It was a life saver half way round!! It could take the whole day!
the park is amazing, you get to touch the animals while driving inside the park, and you have a very wide variety of animals to see.the dolphin show is amazing as well, very entertaining for all the family.
We pre booked our visit to planete sauvage prior to holidaying in france this year. We were a family of 5 plus a friend. We had an experience with the dolphins in the morning were we saw them being fed and trained in there pool, it was excellent, we had our very own translator who talked us through each point and detail. The park itself is huge like longleat but with dolphins and you seemed to be much closer to the animals than at longleat. It has plenty for all to do for all ages and has cafes and restaurants throughout the site that offer good value food.
We were a bit unsure what to expect, but this attraction is definitely worth visiting. The weather wasn't great and so we decided to give it a try. Although it's expensive to get in, you do get a lot for your money. You start with a safari ride. You travel in your own car and so you can stop or slow down to suit you. You go into different enclosures, including lions, tigers, bears, elephants, giraffes - you name an animal and the likelihood it's there! It took us around two hours - including a stop at the half way point for a bite to eat. My advice would be to take a picnic and drinks with you. If that wasn't enough, you then get to walk around the park which also has a reptile area and a monkey area where you go on a walkway above the monkeys (unfortunately this was closed when we went because it was too slippy from the rain.) However, my absolute favourite part was the dolphin show. This lasts around half an hour and will have you mesmerised! I would definitely recommend this attraction to anyone. My last tip is you are asked if you want to buy popcorn to feed the animals (at the start.) The lady encouraged me to buy two bags - however it was my two little animals who ended up eating most if it. Just buy the one if any at all.
I first visited here years ago when my children were young. We returned in August and it was even more magical than we remembered. Huge open spaces full with animals who were well looked after and happy. Being able to open the windows and feed the appropriate animals popcorn bought at the entrance is just amazing. 10 km of drive through is turkey fantastic. A full day out. Slight down side. Guys you need to update the shop!! Walk through area with lemurs playing around your feet and the swing bridge trail to see the monkeys are inspired. Don't think you are ever too old to visit here. Our children are now planning trips with their children!
We spent a wonderful family day out here in July. We'd taken people's advice of getting there early and going on a cloudy day as you see more animals that way. When it's hot, the animals tend to stay in the shade and also you can get very hot in your car, even with air con, as you have the windows open to feed the animals, so go on a cloudy/ cooler day if you can. We also took our own picnic with us as it was cheaper and saved time. There is decent enough food on sale there though and not too expensive We had tried to buy our tickets on line beforehand but found there wasnt any reduction for kids' tickets. The normal adult ticket costs 26 euro but is only 21 euro on line so there is a saving there. I didn't find the Planete Sauvage website that user friendly I must say.Very little of it is in English. We all loved the day out, 2 adults and 5 kids and we all found something to love there. The dolphin show was spectacular. Even though the story was all told in French, the dolphin moves were amazing! We actually watched the show twice as it's free and we had the time!!
We visited Planete Sauvage during a recent holiday to France. We arrived late-ish, at 2pm and the tickets were more expensive than I expected, but as soon as we walked in, I felt that we were somewhere special and it would be worth it - it really had a wow factor. It's beautifully laid out, fresh, clean, natural. We had a look around the lovely African village followed by a picnic, and then on to the dolphin show. The dolphin show was spectacular - I felt like we were in Florida! I've never been to one before, so can't compare, but my children were completely awe-struck. My six year old kept turning to me to say "I love this!". After that we went down to the "sous marine" area below ground level, then walked over to the flamingos and the jungle rope walk. It was all going very well until we headed for the safari and realised that we were too late - the last one departed at 17.00 and it was already 17.30. The kids were upset - the grown-ups were horrified! We headed for home, dejected but trying to keep spirits up. I emailed Planete Sauvage to explain the situation and to see if there was anything they could do - the fantastic staff got back to confirm that we could go again to see the safari. So we headed there again a few days later, this time just to see the safari. And it was so worth the email - so worth the return trip. The animals were right up close to the car - zebras with heads in the window being fed bread by my children, bears, lions, tiger cubs... it was spectacular. I would highly recommend Planete Sauvage - truly one of the best attractions we've visited during five years of holidaying in France
We decided to visit this Safari Park as it's years since I'd been to one and I wanted to see if they have improved- well this one certainly has. All the animals looked fantastic, well fed with wonderful coats. We bought popcorn at the entrance and we were very popular once the animals knew we had food..The site is 10 kms long and halfway through they have a picnic area with a restaurant, cafe and shops, but there was no pushiness, trying to get you to buy.But there were goats and they were roaming free. They jumped up to be fed but were so gentle I couldn't believe it. We had a zebra crossing....right in front of our car. It walked straight for us and rested it's muzzle on the bonnet- a tad disconcerting but heyho! There's an amazing dolphin show, with a story and although our French isn't good we got the gist of it. We then went on to the Madagascar enclosure with the lemurs roaming around. I was on my mobility scooter and they were very interested in that! And when they saw we had popcorn they couldn't get enough!! I STROKED A LEMUR! The thrill that gave me was beyond compare. I really felt I could die happy after that! All in all a wonderful experience, superb full day of adventure and to see such a variety of creatures was great. We will definitely go back.
Defo recommend a trip! Book online tickets €21 each. Website is a bit hard to understand as it only translates parts so took a chance we were booking correctly! Arrive before 10 am it's a bit confusing when you arrive trying to see where to go as we already had tickets so just got on the first queue and it was grand, waited about 15 mins to go through. Sell bags of popcorn at gate to feed animals €2.60/€2.80 a bag. Had great fun feeding animals coming right up to the car!!! Dolphin show was brilliant! Great day out!!!
excellent day out, wit a 12 year old and a 5 year old but this park suits everyone. great to see the animals up close and not enclosed. really worth a visit and imo well worth the money! will be back!
Really enjoyed it, hardly anyone there, in fact I went and asked someone if it was open at one point, thought I had made a massive mistake. Lots of people complaining of queue, which were not an issue for us, expensive but worth it, not often you get to see animals so close up, opportunity to feed some through the windows, downside would be the big cat areas, where windows have to be closed, it got very warm.
The only downside was the long wait ( even tho relatively quiet) to get into the venue. However once in the Safari was fab and you are able to get so close to the animals. Some vehicles, which we thought was very foolish, were even allowing the animals, with horns, to put their head through the car windows. Brilliant day out. Check out the tunnel under the Dolphin pool amazing to see them swimming round.
