I love that place, beautiful building, amazing views of Paris. If is sunny is a great place to have some small picnic.
The highlight of my France experience. The beauty and illumination of the building is not done justice with words, make sure that you pick up some postcards to represent the majesty of the interior, since pictures were not allowed.
Very pretty place and great views across the city however to get to and from it, you have to run the gauntlet of a line of aggressive beggars and vagrants! This totally ruins the visit. They try to tie string to you and charge you cash and the try to pick pocket you. You can't avoid them as they are in a line blocking all routes ! They grabbed hold us us and we had to run to shake them off! Very nasty pieces of work & scum! The Police were nearby but they just let it happen! Needs to be clamped down on. Worth a visit though in a big group! Just be careful !
The most beautiful "little" cathedral I've ever visited. Beautiful structure seen from the outside and from the inside. It has great pieces of art that you must see if visiting Paris, and it's surrounded with a number of really nice restaurants and cafés to enjoy the view.
The church itself is much more impressive from the outside then the inside... however well worth a visit still. We climbed 300 steps to the tope of the dome for 6 euro and it was fantastic. Beautiful view of Paris - you can see the Eiffel Tower too! I highly recommend it
it is a long walk up the stairs but worth the effort, the church is amazing and their was a puppets show outside, the view from up is beautiful and you can see all paris under.
Great view of Paris so having bottle of wine and some baguettes on the stairs below while Paris lights up is recommended. The building it self is very nice but if you are planning on going inside remember it is a place of worship so dress accordingly. Entrance is guarded so they will turn you away otherwise. Also, you are not allowed to take any pictures inside which might be worth knowing.
We walked up the 82 steps to see Sacre Coeur. SUPER crowded! But beautiful. some streets are full to the rim with tacky tourist shops. Walk toward the Dali museum for lots of hip street musicians and street artists. Spend a whole day exploring. Very fun.
This church doesn't disappoint, also the views of the city are spectacular!Well worth the climb up the hill.
Visit the basilica itself, it's interesting, if not very old. The view of the roofs of Paris from the top is a symphony in grey. Visit the Butte Montmartre : the Place du Tertre, with the painters, St. Pierre de Montmartre, the oldest church in Paris. And walk back down the steps from the Sacré Coeur to the bustling streets below.
Absolutely stunning, except for the people (non-tourists) on the steps drinking booze, selling booze, leaving garbage and smoking everything from cigarettes to marijuana. And the scum urinating on the fences as you walk by. Apparently all of this is a newer development...in the past few years...but is apparently a nightly thing. The church doesn't (or can't) get rid of these people, and the police do nothing. What a shame. Otherwise, it is beautiful there.
A place you can spend time for prayer as well as sight-seeing.Be prepared for a good walk around the area. Give yourself enough time if you plan to do shopping. Don't rush to buy but look around and compare.Few months after the visit, I learned from TV documentary that you can book for your special prayer at this Le Sacre Coeur. I shall definitely do this if I have my next visit.
