We visited this an exceptionally tranquil place last June on a glorious sunny day. From the outset, we were given a welcome that made us feel the garden was ours to enjoy. The green and white that pervades throughout the garden is soothing. There are many tucked away seatings within the weaving pathways to sit and absorb the atmosphere. When you arrive at the opening with view of the golden stone house it is quite breathtaking. There were lots of areas I could walk bare foot enjoying the cool grass, delightful. The house and garden has been in the same family for 500 years. It is probably a major factor in conveying a very personal experience of a loved and treasured home.

We had a nice walk in the garden, many different themes - Asian corner, animal shaped bushes, wishing tree. Many statues and cute buildings, a tiny chapel too.

We toured this a little late in the season so we missed a lot of the blooms of the summer. One advantage was that we had the gardens practically to ourselves. The staff here is very gracious and informative.

the gardens, the structures, the vistas all work together to make a wonderful and unforgettable mosaic. We spent hours wandering around the grounds and then enjoyed a nice meal. Added bonus was a small gathering of car collectors in the parking lot. Many vintage french cars on display.

We were driving to Sarlat in the Dordogne legion. and decided to stop here for a break. What a surprise. We had read about the gardens, but the tourist information does not do the gardens justice. We walked through the gardens, taking pictures at every corner. Although there were one or two tourist buses, we did not feel crowded. There is a fine restaurant there overlooking the garden. Even for those who are not garden aficionados, this is a worthwhile visit.

This garden was listed in my friends guide to gardens in Europe. Property in the same family for hundreds of years, and , when restored, it was decided to restore it to a pre-French Revolution formal garden. (Apparently many of the great estates when restoring gardens chose less expensive and lower maintenance "English" style gardens.). It was a lovely day, and while entrance is fairly pricey, it was worth it!

Judging by the numbers of buses and huge groups of tourists...mostly of an older generation, one realizes that perhaps all these gorgeous gardens may disappear forever, unless the young fans of formal gardens start showing up for the tours!A serious garden, with boxwoods and precision cutting everywhere....We sat at the lovely outdoor cafe for an iced tea and enjoyed the crowds enjoying the day.

Beautiful formal garden with colour even at the end of October, There is a wildflower garden, potager and white garden. Entry is 10euros but you get 2 Euros off the menu at the restaurant . The main garden visit needs about 1-2 hours and there are two woodland walks with clear information in both French and English. There is a pic-nic area but I thoroughly recommend the restaurant , which has wonderful views , good food and was good value

Reached by driving 5km through rolling green farmland, then a further kilometre through beautiful woodland, these gardens have everything - all the fashions of formal gardens over the last four centuries. It took us about 90 minutes to follow the well documented (in English) walking tour, enjoying every new experience along the way. Most of the lawn areas are (sensibly) marked 'keep off' apart from a few required to get from one part of the garden to another. We loved the secret corner with its 'birds room' and 'room d'amour' and the wildflower meadow was spectacular even in the second half of October. We appreciated the quality of the English notes and the detail on the gardening techniques they use to keep these gardens such a delight. The cold glass of white wine on the shaded terrace of the cafe before we hit the road again also helped.

The gardens of Eyrignac are indisputable beautiful in sceneries and professional maintenance. These are a well-composed selection of shapes, and differences in landscaping and garden architecture. All hedges are perfectly straight and aligned as result of superb specialised craftsmanship. The estate is an over 500 years family ownership and yet run by the 22nd generation. This gardens are filled with unbelievable variety shades of green; every following scenery is in harmony with the previous. In short a paradise. Highly recommended to a visit.

Beautiful gardens in peaceful surroundings. Some parts are under construction, but in a few years it will be complete. Very peaceful, quiet, only the sound of insects and birds and fountains.Take a few hours to visit all. Would come here again to see the result after the construction

These are privately owned gardens that receive no state subsidies, so the entrance fee is quite steep. They are very well tended, and can be visited in an afternoon. Call for directions, before you go. They are not that far from Sarlat - if you take the back roads.

A truly beautiful range of gardens, from immaculately presented topiary to a wonderful wild flower meadow which was my particular highlight. The setting is superb, and adds an amazing back drop. The layout and guidance notes are helpful and informative. The kitchen garden is a delight.

We saw a leaflet for this garden at a castle we visited and seeing that in km it didn't look far away we decided to visit - it actually took 1hr 30 minutes! But it was worth the drive. We arrived 30 minutes before closing, however it turns out that the garden doesn't close! You can stay pretty much as long as you want, the ticket office and shop closes but you can stay. We arrived for gorgeous golden light and were one of the only people left there. We only left at 8:30pm and could have stayed longer. It had beautiful manicured gardens with lots of different areas and styles. We sat for a long time in the white garden on a Chinese pagoda seat overlooking a wild flower meadow. It was definitely worth a visit. Hopefully we can come back again as it is a very special place.
