Bonjour, i am sorry, i don't speak chines, but i would like to thank you for your very nice comments (thanks to Google translation ;-) ), i will be happy to receive you again any time.I wish the best for the new year 2015Vincent
ahhh Vincent, your love of the process of converting some simple fruit into something so pleasurable was wonderful to behold. The almost secret door entry to the cellar added to our thrill of discovering another one of St Emillions vinological highlights. A good drop unfortunately difficult to source in Australia. Recommended.
Chateau Guadet is one of two chateaus located within the town parameters of St Emilion. We were immediately impressed with the elegant & sophisticated presentation of the chateau. A grand door painted in a classic deep blue with a discrete golden sign and doorbell, which then opened to a classically designed entryway and back to an enclosed garden where you enter the tasting room and caves. Vinent took us through the chateau, caves, and back to the tasting room where we tried some of their beautiful wines. Wonderful experience thanks to the hospitality of Vincent and his family. Merci Chateau Guadet!
Bonjour,Your Comments really touch me.I am sorry that you were not impress by the winery, the 15 centuries quarries and the Tour. Dad and I always try to give our best in any of the tours we give. Passion drive us.Yes, the house is old (at least from the 15centuries as far as we know) but the tools for winemaking are last generation.I can understand that you don't like our wine. I try to get the best out of the year, every year, but every body have his own taste.Maybe our wine is too expensive for you, but we don't make enough wine to sell and we get very good score by critics. The vineyard and the wines are certified organic. You find the tour too expensive but you had a private tour done by the owner winemaker himself.I assume that the big châteaux own by corporate group, insurance companies give you an other picture than our old family estate, but i enjoy doing the tours this way. I invite you to come back to share a glass of wine with me.As wine is about pleasure and conviviality.Wish you my best wishes for the new year 2015Vincent

Bonjour,You have put the finguer in our "weekness", we are hard to find. But at the same time we want to stay this way as like you say we are inside the walls of Saint-Emilion and there is a bit more than 1 million tourist a year in Saint-Emilion.Normally we take people on tour only by appointment and at that time we give them direction, but we are very glad that you find us and that you enjoy the Tour. Dad is like me, passionate and is also the president of the historical society of Saint-Emilion.Thanks a lot for you very nice commentsI wish you the best for the new year 2015Vincent
None other has the ideal location as Chateau Guadet - It's in "downtown" of UNESCO heritage site of Saint-Emilion! I was privileged to spend extended time in this charming and hospitable chateau. Catherine is most gracious and her superb culinary skill is unforgettable. Guy-Petrus is aristocratic yet has most down to earth attitude and never shy away from any work needs to be done. As fot next generation's heir, Vincent, who has vineyard is his blood. He's a willing teacher and passionate with his organic philosophy. The Lignac's awareness and deep love for their land are admirable.I was planning a return trip before I even left Chateau Guadet.
Visited Chateau during my visit to St Emilion, both Vincent & Guy were charming as was their chateau and historic cellars. It is nice to be welcome to a family chateau, and to see how a family business is enthusiastically supported by all family members. Very informative, great wines, highly recommended tour.
Visited as part of a tour of St Emilion, both Vincent & Guy were charming as was their chateau and cellars.Very informative, gorgeous wines, recommended tour.
Vincent was a great host. From his prompt response to my email and the actual tour itself, it was a very pleasent process. We arrived on the day, in a group of 4, and joined another couple in the beautiful garden. Vincent had a chat with us in the lovely garden about his philosophy about wine making, then we visited the celler which dates back to the 15th century. We then did a wine tasting (2 glasses) with Vincent explaining to us the technique. All in all, it was a lovely experience and I highly recommend it. There is (paid) parking right near by. It would be even better if we can take a walk in the vinyard itself, which is very near by, walk distance.
We were astonished that the owner Guy Petrus took his valuable time to give our family a very personal and private tour. It was really delightful and the tour itself was a real experience - the cellar alone is worth doing the tour for. The wine is also excellent btw and his passion is evident throughout. Tour lasted 1 hour exactly.
My husband and I went to 4 other chateaus while we were in Saint Emilion and this was by far our favorite. Vincent, the winemaker was our tour guide. He was so friendly, he displayed an American flag in his garden after learning we are from California. His passion for wine making is evident and inspiring. We didn't realize that his chateau was voted #1 on tripadvisor so we were lucky to get a last minute booking. You wouldn't realize that he was #1 either by his humbleness and laid back personality. The best part was sitting down with him after the cave tour to taste the wine. He was very entertaining with his wine analogies. It is good to go to another chateau so you can compare the difference and I think that is what also helped us to appreciate this tour so much. Thanks so much Vincent. It was a lovely time.
