This is obviously a monument that means a lot to poles but on a clod wet day it loses some of its lustre but in the summer they have chopin concerts around the lake and its supposed to magical so with rest of the park.
Impressive monument in honor of Chopin in the Lazienki Park. The park itself is a must visit in Warsaw!
This museum is great for music enthusiasts. Apart from his life and achievements there are lots of opportunities for interaction and to listen to excerpts of his music.
Located in Lazienki Park this "Hommage "to the fantastic Chopin is extremely beautiful. It represents Chopin playing the violin in a beautiful surrouding with a lake and a lot of green around, bishes, trees and so on . It sure deserves a visit.
Did you know Frederik Choin's Heart was placed in a pilar in one of the old churhces in Warsaw? Must see!
Despite it raining the day we went there the place was mobbed with people enjoying the music reverbarating around the place.
This is actually the 2nd identical monument to Chopin on this wonderful location. The first version, designed by a Polish sculptor in the Art Nouveau mode, and constructed in 1926 despite considerable controversy, was blown up by the Nazis after their invasion of Warsaw in 1940. Fortunately, the original mould was preserved, and in 1958 this casting was erected on the same site. Another casting was made for the city of Tokyo in Japan. We saw this during a city tour, and were impressed more by its beautiful location, and the wonderful surroundings of Lazienki Park that we would not otherwise have seen. It sits on a pedestal by the side of a little pond, and models the great pianist/composer sitting under a willow tree whose leaves spread out like fingers to protect him. Extracts of his music are audible through a discreet sound system, and quite nearby, there is an open-air arena reminiscent of a Roman amphitheatre where free performances of his works take place. The park contains several attractive buildings that we saw from the exterior, but they were closed on the day (a public holiday) of our visit. 30 minutes is sufficient to see the monument, but it is worth while extending this by another hours to enjoy the park as well.
Nice area and pleasant surroundings. Chopin's heart is in the Old Town Vicinity, but the memorial is a little distance from there.
The Chopin Statue is a large bronze statue of Frédéric Chopin that stands in Łazienki Park. The statue was cast and erected in 1926.
This statue is in a lovely parkland setting. It is a striking memorial to the great composer. This is one of the iconic sights to stop off in the city.
Beautiful park setting among the trees and looks like a lovely spot to enjoy a concert, but we were a month too late.
went around Warsaw on the hop on hop off bus to see all the different places. The Chopin monument is set in large grounds with water features and park land. There is the main house and monument and also smaller buildings, a lake, an open air theatre and lots of gardens to walk around.
Monument is in one of the most beautiful parks I have ever seen. The oldest park in Warsaw. During SUMMER near the monument held free Chopin concerts. The concert season lasts from May to September with concerts held every Sunday at 12:00 and 16:00. Admission is free.
Although it was a little bit chilly the day we went, we had a lovely time exploring the park. There are many trails to walk, and much beautiful scenery to see. We took lots of pictures and had a really nice time. Dont forget to drop by the gift shop and pick up a souvenir!
If you make this the last stop after being in Lazienki Park, admire the statue and landscaping then out the gate you can catch a bus to the Old Town.
