The history you will hear and the college grounds are amazing! We got to see the Book of Kells; don't miss this!
Stunning interior. More restoration required on some part. It shows how old the library and what history lies there.
walking through at night on the literary pub crawl was nice no one about..in the day students and a sunny day ...both experiences different but great
If you love fonts and celtic script come here! the old library is impressive, even if you're not into biblical books, the artistry of the Book of Kells and the time and effort it took to make it is amazing.
This is a beautiful campus to visit right in the middle of dublin city centre. It felt like going into Hogwarts. The tour guide was good and explained the history of the university as well as some of the famous people who have gone there. We went to visit the Book of Kells in the old library which is just a magnificent building. I can only imagine what it is like to study here! It's really a lovely place.
entrance into Trinity College is free to walk round, a small fee to go and see the Book of Kells. there is an interesting display telling you about how and when it was made and then the book itself, which is amazing, this ticket also gains you entry into the library which houses so many books all in an equally impressive building, a not to miss whilst in Dublin
Dublin city is so cool and calm place to hangout and the journey was amazing.I never had such a journey in my life before to this long before from India, so I feel great.
A visit to the Long Hall, as a lover of books was fantastic. It was quite awe inspiring to see the scale of books that are recorded there, and themed displays provide for an interesting discovery too. The college campus on whole itself is lovely.
I highly recommend everyone to experience this and see the book of kells. Fantastic use of art and words to convey a story. Incredible how much detail and effort went into creating the books with the very limited resources available at the time for both creation and binding/production.
Worth a trip to Dublin purely for The Book of Kells and the Long Hall which are amazing. Only down side was the apparent Misogyny in the sites features / architecture and busts. Which along with it's George Salmon monument only feature men. (George Salmon Provost quoted as saying Females would study at the college over his dead body). I am surprised that the modern day management have not tried to rectify this with even a little homage to the great female literary figures. Unless they have, maybe I missed it.
This a must see in Dublin. the book of Kells is here and many other historical books and items of Irish history. Long lines in the summer of the Kells tour but worth the time.
