Such a great experience! Peter was a wonderful tour guide and accommodated our party of four. His horses were so mild-mannered and well behaved, and we had amazing views during our trek. Even with little to no horseback riding experience, you can have a good time. I'd highly recommend this tour -- we did the shorter one due to being crunched on time, but I'd go back for a longer trek if I could!

Mountain view and it's owner Peter were highly recommended by our B&B owner. We called that morning and Peter changed around his plans to accommodate our schedule and make it happen for us. All four of us were first time riders and he did a great job showing us the ropes. It was a great experience for the whole family and it really made our trip. Growing up in the area, Peter was able to show us a part of the country you would never see by car or foot. His horses were very well behaved and made us feel like pros early into the two hour ride. Great operation - I would highly recommend Mountain to all.

If you are looking to spend some time on a horse back in Ireland this is definitely the place to do it. The Irish Gypsy cobs are all in great condition and good natured. As we booked on very short notice we had the pleasure of having Peter, the owner, taking us out personally. Our small group consisted of one 9 year old with some riding experience and two adults, one with and one without riding experience and Peter was not only a great guide but also at all times was checking on all riders and helping the more inexperienced if necessary. The tour itself revealed hidden treasures in the countryside but also offered stunning views of the Doolin coast line all the way to Connemara, the Aran Islands, the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren. We were lucky enough to see several double rainwbows along the way as well.We can highly recommend Peter and his horses and will definitely back for more trekking.

It's a really nice way to visit the burren. The horses are super friendly and the guides gives you a lot of information.

Today I was on a 4hours trail ride at Mountain View Horse Riding! I can HiGHLY RECOMMEND riding there! I have done a few trail rides so far, and that one was one of the best! The horses are very well kept, in good shape and well trained! Peter the owner and guide, grown up here, has a big knowledge of the area and is very friendly.Because people cancelled just in the morning i could enjoy a privat ride. The view on top of the mountain over Galway Bay, THE BURREN and the CLiFFS of MOHER was stunning! And we did some nice canter on the trail too: through the forest and the fields. I especially enjoyed the one on top of the hill towards the CLiFFS of MOHER, a panoramic canter! Definitly a good way to overlook the cliffs, away from the touristy hustle and bustle! On my next trip to Ireland im back for sure!

We decided on a whim and the encouragement of our horse enthusiast daughter to spend a portion of our last day in Ireland going horseback riding along the Cliffs of Mohr. it was a great decision! We booked a 2 hour ride and were glad we did instead of the one hour ride because it gave us much better views and allowed for a more fulfilling experience. Peter was very professional while still being so friendly and so much fun. The horses were well trained and Peter took much care to match each of us to the perfect horse. I was especially glad to see that these were large, work horses capable of easily carrying those of us who might be a bit larger than we should be. Being slightly experienced to experienced riders, we did some trotting here and there which was nice. The views were incredible and the solitude of seeing the Cliffs away from all the tourists was a very nice experience. Mountain View clearly cares well for their horses and for their customers, and does what they do very well. It is obvious that Peter truly loves what he does and loves sharing the beauty of his beloved Ireland with others. He even gave us a great suggestion for dinner at McGann's in town...dinner was delicious and at a good price. If I had to make one comment for improvement, it would be to somehow improve the ability to hear what Peter was saying as we rode all along the trail. I was the 3rd of 4 and had a very hard time hearing all his information and anecdotes and I'm sure my daughter behind me missed a lot of it as well. Something to magnify the guide's voice or possibly small voice transmitters in the helmets would be awesome. Also, when making the reservation by phone, they should be more careful to remind people that they do NOT accept credit. We had to scramble to come up with enough cash between the four of us as we'd been using up all our Euro in anticipation of flying home the next day. Thankfully, Peter accepted a combination of Euro & dollars so he did not have to put us to work mucking stalls! The 50 Euro price per person for the 2 hour ride was a bit pricey, but they do have a lot of beautiful horses to care for. All in all though it was a memorable way to end our trip to the UK!

Have done the 2 hour trek with a good friend of mine yesterday. Absolutely great experience. Horses seem very calm and relaxed. Peter did a great job. He was entertaining, choose the horses for each rider carefully and cared about the people in the group.I personally haven`t been on a horse in years and had an accident the time before and was nervous. My experience before was little but I`ve sat on horses before. Peter took it easy making sure everyone was comfortable. Felt a bit sorry for the others as I was the weakest link and holding the group back, but still it was enjoyable for everyone.Weather was great, views amazing and I realised today that the experience will last a while as my muscles are hurting now :)Would recommend it to anyone and do it again myself!!!Thanks for the great afternoon Peter and Max!

We booked at 2 hour trek while visiting Ireland for our honeymoon in April and we are so glad we did! It was such a great experience. Peter was absolutely fantastic when I called to book and gave us some great tips for the rest of our honeymoon in Ireland. Neither my husband or I have any horseback riding experience but that didn't matter, Peter paired us with the perfect horses (Shay and Max). Beautiful views, great weather, a great guide, and great horses made this a very memorable trip!

It wasn't our first time to Mountain View Horse Riding center and won't be out last! We went out with Peter several times while in Ireland and each trip out was wonderful. We rode in groups from just the two of us to a group of six. Peter did an excellent job matching each of us to the appropriate horse and lined us up before leaving the yard. The horses, all well trained, were a joy to ride at all skill levels. We can't say enough about Peter's care for all of the riders and the commentary about all the attractions. The views of the Atlantic Ocean, Aran Islands, the Cliffs of Moher, Fanore beach, Lisdoonvarna were breathtaking! If you're in the area I highly recommend you meet up with Peter and go for a trek!

We did the two hour ride and Peter was our guide. We truly lucked out and it was just the three of us. Wonderful views of the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, the famine villages, the coastline. One of us is a beginner and the other rides. Peter matched us to perfect Gypsy Vanner horses and paced the ride to be challenging for both of us. Walk, trot, canter. He is an excellent tour guide, knowledgeable about the area as he's lived there his whole life, and a thoroughly enjoyable person to spend time with. The horses are well cared for, good-natured and willing to do more than just follow the leader. Would recommend Mountainview if you are in the area.

Spent a fantastic morning on a 2 hour ride on Guiness a 7 year old Gypsy Vanner. I have very little experience and Peter and Guiness put me at my ease. We were very fortunate to have brilliant weather and that enhanced the experience, the views were to die for, Peter was very knowledgeable about the landscape and the history of the area. Highly recommend a visit.

It would be hard to get better views anywhere in the world. I had not ridden in years and was very comfortable on my sturdy gypsy vanner Guinness. We were able to trot quite a lot which was great fun. Peter was a great guide, pointing out areas of interest and constantly checking to ensure that we were all doing ok. My husband enjoyed the experience as well although he is not a horse person. One other note is that although an exact location is not posted on the website, we were able to find it fairly easily purely by following signs from Lisdoonvarna. While we were there, we snapped the gps coordinates for anyone that might need them: 53°02'30.4"N 9°19'00.7"W.

Last minute decision for our last day of vacation. Took the two-hour ride and it was a wonderful, relaxing adventure. Saw perspectives of the cliffs area that can't be seen by the normal traveler. Peter was a great guide, giving us background on all the little aspects of the area. When my daughter noticed her phone was missing, he backtracked and found it for her. Made an excellent recommendation (McGanns) in Doolin for dinner. It made us very late getting back to Dublin that evening, but we all agreed, it was well worth it!
