Unspoiled beaches against a backdrop of mountains. The sandy coast stretches on for miles and the massive crashing waves will take your breath away. Natural wonder not to be missed!
A wet and windy Derrynane beach in February is brilliant. You can't beat the crashing waves. The shared beach at Abbey Island gives you crashing waves on one side and a tranquil lagoon on the opposite. Watching sea bass jumping and cormorants feeding, you can't beat a bit of nature.
Its got it all. Long walks, Sheltered areas for families, sports area and close to all amenities and last but not least it is close to one of the best pubs in Ireland "Bridies". What more can you ask her.
If you have time for just one visit to one beach...visit Derrynane . It's really several beaches rather than one beach, something for everyone, paddle in gentle shallow sunwarmed waters around the pier with your smallest children.Go over the dunes to the bigger waves with older kids and enjoy body boarding and swimming under the careful watch of the lifeguards, head out into the bay sailing ,canoeing with Helen Wilson and Derrynane Seasports or do an ecological tour with marine biologist Vinnie Hyland. . .Walk over to Abbey Island at low tide or explore the grassy dunes and their profusion of wild flowers, fresh water ponds..the home to natterjack toads! Walk the length of Danger beach and feel the power of the surf taking and giving. A good lunch , coffee or icecream in Ahamore Tea Rooms is only minutes stroll from the beach or a pint and a crab sandwich in Bridies pub. A beautiful clean area, beautiful panoramas everywhere you look, quite simply perfect.
Stunning little beach tucked away behind Derrynane House. Absolutely gorgeous definitely worth the visit.
I couldn't picture a nicer place to grow up near, the beach is by far the most relaxing, scenic locations in South West Kerry
Came here on Christmas Day 2014 and it was stunning - the water was clear and the beach looked breath-taking. We climbed up on the rocks and looked out over the sea and it was just amazing. I would love to come back here in the summer to enjoy the water.
Beautiful clean sandy beach with clear waters. Amazing scenery on a sunny winters day. Can't wait until the next time I visit.
The walks around the beach and surrounding grounds are beautiful. The scenery is amazing! Anyone traveling around the Ring of Kerry must stop at this beach!
We stumbled upon this beach and were so impressed. It is absolutely stunning with beautiful sand, fantastic views and clear water. It was a great place to go for an autumn walk.
Wild beauty on a quiet beach in a remote part of Kerry. Walked and swam in clear turquoise water. Just be careful to swim at the safe end of the beach, near Abbey island.
just the most fantastic place to walk or horse ride enjoying the fabulous views and sands the water lapping on the seashore, the peace, the quite the beauty heaven on earth
brilliant beaches and carrolls cove is a definite visit as it has the only beach bar in ireland.food is excellent in this restaurant.travel to derrynane house and visit derrynane beach.Dont shop in caherdaniel as they charge well because they are a tourist area. There is a nice coffee shop there but stay away from the antique shop as he over charges for what he has.
Always clean, with close parking and no dogs in sight. We were lucky in that the tide was in every time we went there.
Totally unspoilt. Lots of rock pools for children to explore. If the tide is right you can stroll over to Abbey Island too.
