Nice, modern museum, with all models (including the original prototype and the very last models that never went into production) neatly displayed with descriptions in Swedish and English behind the windscreen. The film in the outsize cinema was in Swedish without the benefit of subtitles. There were no further explanations, no posters, no advertisements, nothing to make the brand or, indeed, the museum come to life. The merchandise was a bit quirky and outrageously expensive. In forty-five minutes I had really seen everything, gone to the loo and had a conversation with the chap who sold the tickets about the sadness of the fact that Saab, like Rover, was no longer there to produce their wonderful, off-the-beaten-track products to those looking for something different from the ubiquitous Bavarian brands.Trollhättan is, by the way, an open air Saab museum. Almost one in three cars is a Saab, but of course this won't last much longer.

I have been the owner of 5 Saabs, and a fanatic since the early 1970's, so it was a no-brainer to make the drive to visit the museum while in Sweden. And it was certainly well worth going out of my way to see. My friend and I spent about 3 hours looking at the detail of each and every model (we're both car buffs), repeatedly remarking at how wonderfully advanced the older models were, compared to other makes of vehicles of the same vintage. There were numerous offerings of every model ever made, from the first 1947 model through to the many concept vehicles over the years, as well as the innovative future that was cut short. It truly made me sad that this pioneering company fell prey to General Motors, and ultimately, its death. The admission cost was minimal, and the souvenir shop was interesting and the prices did not leave you feeling gouged. I would also recommend taking the 10 minute drive (which we did quite by accident while trying to find the museum) to see the HUGE factory where these innovative vehicles were once produced...even if only just to drive by and salute.

The SAAB museum is really nice. More than just a place for the SAAB lovers. It's display the cars (of course) in an old industry area. And there also a shop there you can buy, presents to them that couldn't participate in the visit. In the same area as SAAB museum there are a lot more to see.

If you love Saab this is a must. If Saab is a religion, rallylegend Erik Carlsson is pope. The complete and to short history of Saab is here on display. But for anyone else will enjoy a visit to the Saab Carmuseum.

Any Saab owner/driver/enthusiasts trip to Sweden would be incomplete without going to see where is started. For Ursaab through to the last pre-production models of the 9-5 Sportback, the museum traces the history of Saab through the cars that raced in the 60s and 70s through to the classic 900 and then onto the latest models. The museum is great for enthusiasts but having visited with one small child, it does miss out of interactive/examining elements. It is a "no touch" museum which makes reading whilst making sure that exploring little hands don't a little tiring.

Do visit if you are interested to know the journey of SAAB. From very early design/technology to latest hybrid..it has all models. Was surprised to know many of the innovations in auto technology were actually developed first at SAAB!! We were fortunate to have retired senior director to guide us but otherwise also if you love automobiles, you will enjoy throughly.

If you have every owned a Saab you must try to make it here. It is more of a large car lot with every kind of Saab every made and allot of concepts cars. OK info on each car. It is just fun to see the cars you owned in the past and hope Saab will soon be making these funny cars again.

Have wanted to come here for years. I've owned five SAAB autos. They have a comprehensive display of SAAB products and inventions. Sadly, no SAAB jet fighters, but some of the futuristic cars can suffice. SAAB has many world firsts in autos - perhaps and outsize list in comparison to their size. They're all on display here.Race cars, concept cars, production cars, and more. Cutaways showing safety innovations. Even a SAAB camper! It's a must see for engineering minds, SAAB fans, or anyone who enjoys auto design or engineering.

One of a kind car museum. Gives a beautiful overview of this unique car brand. Nice gift shop too. Well worth a big detour..and Trollhättan has more interesting places. No excuse to miss this museum.Nice restaurants next door

An excellent visual history of the company with everything from early models to never released prototypes. Saab is richly ingrained in Swedish industrial history and this museum is a worthy stop along the path of discovery for any Swedish culture or car enthusiast.

Excellent review of the development during all the years SAAB designed and built cars in the industrial city Trollhättan. They are all there from the first prototype to the last creation before the bankruptcy.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed the museum and staff. We received a personal tour of the entire museum highlighting the entire history of the company, including some really cool prototype models never manufactured. The tourist information center next door was excellent as well.

Great view of the history of the company. Exciting standard models as well as som unique prototypes and "one-off" special cars. The area surrounding the Museum is also fantastic in the summer time.
