I went here mainly to check out the Nordic animals but unfortunately the brown bears were hibernating and a few other enclosures were closed for renovation - none of which were mentioned before you pay the entrance fee. The actual park was nice to walk around with the trees etc. Disappointed that you have to pay even more to enter the aquarium!
As a visitor, you should have time for a whole day at Skansen. In addition to the fort is a zoo, so it has also accumulated culture from all over Sweden in the field! Very old buildings and farmhouses are just part of what is available. Skansen offer the whole family a great day! Summertime held televised event from the big stage with renowned artists from all over the world! I recommend warmly a visit to this place!
I personally find museums boring. But I heard good reviews about skansen, Sweden. So I decided to visit there. It was an amazing experience. And open air concept is too good. It changed my view about museums . I really like the way museum works. Actual people and artists dressed as old times and you will like going back in time.. I went there around Christmas and it was too cold. Please do carry warm clothes if visiting in winter timePlease do visit this place if you are around.
The visit in skansen lifted me up - I though the animal would be kept like in a zoo, but they are all happy!! running up and down, or away, if they're afraid, wolfs also have their own space, over which is a bridge, so that you can see them, but they cannot come too close to you :)
They say that it's open, but it's really terrible. We couldn't find but two of the buildings unlocked even though we were told there were at least 6. I'm not even really sure what you would do there with the buildings opened...
If you want to see more about Sweden but you are only in Stockholm for a few days, don't miss this museum out! There are some historic buildings, each with a story behind. In one corner of the park is kind of a zoo with local animals. In the "food corner" you can either buy a meal or just buy some sausages and have a barbeque on one of the grill grates. To see everything you need a couple of hours (I only had like 2h, so I rushed through the park, would have preferred to have a lot more). Overall the best thing I did in Stockholm!PS: If you need postcards, don't buy them at the Skansen Boutique: they don't have any Skansen-related sujets and the post cards cost like 10SKr (the kiosk next to the museum sells them for 6SKr) ;-)
