Not being gamblers, we passed through the casino on the way to the queen experience. We had not been inside a casino since we visited Las Vegas some 18 Years before on a trip to the USA. Nothing remarkable about it, just a dark place, slots, roulette etc, and people loosing money
We are not gamblers so can't comment on gambling however the food at the casino resturant was very good and it was funtobe in the casino and people watch.
We had a couple of hours to spare before we could check into our hotel, so walked along the lake frontage and to the casino. What a great find this was. We checked out the fabulous Queen museum, had a drink and booked for dinner. We had been craving a good steak with veges and this is what we got here. A great meal at a reasonable price. The service was impeccable and the staff spoke good English. The Queen museum is free to enter and very interactive. You can have some fun and "mix" their songs. We would recommend a visit to this casino if you are in Montreaux.
I was visiting Montreux, I was stop by for quick drink but great deal for promotion 2 course for 23CHF or 3 course 33CHF , i really enjoy the meal and the view .The waitress was terrible but the co-workers were very nice .But when i back home , I was losing my time on my credit card , I did know what they did , but not charge as credit on the card but for cash advance , I needs to dispute and paid extra money for transaction fee and other fee too.I will never come back again for paying with my credit card.
Good Evening,Thank you for your message and sorry for don't offer you a drink.Regards
We walked in and it was nothing like we are use to in Las Vegas. Everything is quiet, not busy and kinda dark! Machines seem to be older and "used". We didn't eat any food while we were there. The staff seem very friendly. It just was a very odd feeling for us to be in a casino without all the noise and lights flashing.
We walked in to buy some casino memorabilia for a family member who is a professional card dealer. The casino did not have a store like most Las Vegas casinos, but the lady we spoke with at the casino entrance worked hard to help us find what we needed. Very nice person and the casino appeared to be very clean. We did not gamble or eat at the casino, so we can't thoroughly evaluate the casino.
The Steak was perfect as was the Bernaise sauce. Excellent service. The decor is unique themed around Jazz music. Each table has a painted piano Keyboard down two sides. The dinner plates match with a keyboard down one side. The only thing I disliked was the Jazz music that played, but that is a personal thing. If you ignore the music, then it is great. We went three times. Food wonderful on each occasion. ★★★★
The Queen studio is a nice experience for an hour or so. There are very interesting pictures, stories, instruments (the drums) of Queen and clothes of Freddie Mercury, and a real size rebuilt mixing desk in a separate room, where one can re-mix and listen to a queen single.
Only visited the Queen studio which is housed in the building. The artifacts and information about Queen is second to none, you even get to re-mix a Queen single, free admission
What a find the "Queen Experience" at the Montreux casino is. We really chanced upon this after doing a bit of research when we were in Montreux. Apart from the views of the lake and the mountains, this is about the only other attarction that is for free in the area. And what a find this is. We arrived at lunch time and we were the only ones in the musuem. There is so much to see and do.We spent lots of time wandering around the exhibitions and looking at the costumes and instruments. There is a good little doccumentary film, that traces the origins of the band and details of the original studio. The studio itself and especially the mixing desk was great, and the ability to muck around with songs was another quirky feature that should not be missed. In a city where hot dogs were being sold on the promenade of the lake for 8 francs, the zero cost of the Queen Experience, and the quality, make this a great escape for a couple of hours.
besides beeing a casino with a lot of atraction and gaming and also prizes, they have a beautifull view to the lake, montains with snow on the top almost all year long. I loved they restaurant. very good food, presentarion and sercive.
We have a holiday home in Montreux. We found out a long time ago that there are no bargains in Montreux - everything is expensive ..... apart from this amazing museum which is free!Perhaps because it is located in the casino, not many people seem to know about it. We visited twice and on both occasions we had the place to ourselves. The museum is located here because the Casino used to house a recording studio - and, in case you didn't know, Freddie Mercury lived in Montreux and Queen used the studio a lot. There is an amazing collection of clothes, instruments and recording equipment. One room houses a mock up of the mixing desk - and you can re-mix some Queen classics. It is all very well displayed. I am not a huge Queen fan - but found this fascinating. On your way out make sure you visit the original studio door. It is not well signposted - and you even have to climb over a car park chain to get there!
The Studio Experience - situated in the Casino - was opened in 2013 and is dedicated to Queen and Freddie Mercury. If you like Queen you can´t leave Montreux without visiting this place. If you don´t know much about Queen you will be inspired for to listen some of their tracks for sure. There is not much to say except - it absolutelly worths visiting. And the entrance is free.
