We took our five year old daughter by chance, and luckily we were just in time for the show. We enjoyed it very much, despite it being narrated in either Italian or German. From the little German I could understand, they thoroughly explain the birds - very educational, informative and entertaining. During the show, the birds fly right over your heads, so close they'll almost touch you, a thrill for both kids and adults. Sit in the back or side rows and you might just get a bird hopping on your head! Check the show timings before making your way there. That's the highlight, after that, it takes about five minutes to walk through the whole area.

Did not expect much before I went with my family (incl 3 kids), but this was an absolute spectacular show! Overall a small place but makes up with a great show of awesome birds that will come very close during flight. Shows are at 11am and 3pm, with interesting variety of birds and just long enough to be interesting to both adults and kids. A must visit if you are in the Locarno area!

Fantastic to see these falcons, owls, eagles, vultures and other birds flying over your head just inches away, seeing their eyes so close as they are trained well to do this but it is sad to see them in their tiny cages. Most of the birds in the cages do performances and get out to fly once or twice a day depending on the season so I am happy for that. I was really touched by the andean condor who does not perform, however, I saw him up close in his cage and with his beak, kept pulling at the wire barrier in a gesture of wanting to be free. These birds are said to be born in captivity and raised in captivity so their freedom outside of the cage is not an option. Yet looking at them, I could feel sensitive to how they live in captivity. This show is not really for people in wheelchairs as they are not able to be higher than ground level and not be able to be into the stands where the height up makes it possible to see the bird performances up close. The grounds are flat so a wheelchair can get around to see all the birds in their cages and still be able to see the performances even though lesser views from ground level. Sitting in the stands about half way up and higher is the most ideal. It was considerate to have a wheelchair accessible toilet. Thanks for that.

It's not just for kids, also for adults very interessting. Owls, eagles, vultures flying over your head and while they doing this, the speaker explains about their behaviour in the nature. Just make sure, you're there when there is a show. There is 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon, check the homepage.

We were three generations traveling together and all of us really liked this show. I have seen a few other bird shows, but this one was the most closely connected to the audience. You really have to duck sometimes when the birds buzz the audience!

A variety of birds in one place. The trainer did a good show with the birds flying over the crowd gives you the thrill. Language was Italian and German. I highly recommend seeing the show. Make sure to sit in the middle front to get most of the action

What a super attraction and, educational too. The viewing area is under a roof, while sitting in a dry/shady place you watch a large variety of birds of prey showing of their skills. In between they are presented to the visitors close up as every species is explained. It is extraordinary to see the largest birds of prey like a Bald Eagle or a Condor fly just above your head. The show also includes a beautiful white horse and at the end of the show ....a pony for the children to ride. The surroundings are worth mentioning, a lovely path leads the visitor through a parklike estate and the different, well maintained flight cages

If travelling by bus stay on to the end of the route !!The falconry is situated within a fenced compound with aviaries backing onto the display area. The display area comprises a large seated area for 600+ people (many in the shade) fronted by a grassed area which is landscaped and has two towers in opposing corners, it is separated from the public by a stream.Commentary is in German and Italian but that doesn't matter once the show starts. The senior falconer produces birds from the back of the aviaries and they "perform" between the towers and the falconer who is constantly on the move. Birds are displayed so that photographs can be taken. There is something magical about lining up a photo of an incoming bird and feeling a wing tip brush your hand after you have pressed the shutter. At one point there were six eagles and vultures at different points around the display area. The flying display lasts 45+minutes. Between displays one can wander the grounds, visit the aviaries, have a snack, chat to the falconers, visit the shop (not big but certainly diverse) or enjoy a cooling drink. We were highly impressed by the whole place, and want to go back.

Not sure what I was going to see but once the show got under way, you enjoy the change of pace, the introduction of different wild birds and a good few times they do come up close and personal You learn as well. Just be ready as they swoop in so be ready to take the action shot. Well worth a visit although I'd like the visit to the cages to be a little more informative though.

We were staying in Lugano for the Easter weekend and the weather was not great on the Saturday. having visited Swiss Miniature in the morning, we decided to drive over to Locarno to visit the Falconery. As a family we love birds of prey. We paid 55CHF for a family ticket and started viewing the birds in the cages. We did not know how many birds they had on display and were a little disappointed when we had finished within 30mins and still have an hour to wait for the show. We looked round again and enjoyed reading all the displays and pulling faces at the birds when they called to us. When the show started at 3pm we noticed that the number of visitors to the park had dramatically increased and we would advise that if you visit time your visit to aline with the show time so you do not need to hang around too long. The show was a good 45mins long and was great. The explanations were in German and Italian but I would imagine that even with neither of those languages you would enjoy the show. The birds do lots of flying low over the heads of the audiences and some even land on heads so if you are nervous of large birds of prey do not wear a hat and you won't be landed on!! We thoroughly enjoyed it and after initial disappointment were pleased we drove over.
