The Piazza is beautiful. Definitely worth a stroll through. It, however, really isn't much of an attraction. You will appreciate much more strolling through the meandering streets of Lugano and seeing the high end merchants than a plaza full of financial institutions and restaurants. Don't get me wrong, you need to walk through the Piazza; but nothing more than walk through it on your way down to the lake is warranted.
Great pizza, good central location with friendly service - not cheap though. The calzone looks scary, limited choice of beers.
Nice town square with restaurants and shops all a round.Typical Italian style square, since Lugano is in the Italian canton of Ticino. You'll see it while strolling along the lake, you can't miss it
I was here new years eve at the night. The place was well visited and the atmosphere was very good. If you are here at new year the place is worth to visit at midnight.
What more would you want! A pretty place where one can see people strolling or shopping or just going to the Bank. It is attractive now due to Xmas Decorations.
Bustling piazza with lots of choices of outdoor restaurants to eat at. We strolled around here after our dinner on a Saturday night and watched some locals playing street chess. Lovely walk back to the funicular station to reach our hotel up the top of the town.
Visited Lake Lugano and enjoyed a glass of wine with nibbles in Piazza della Riforma on Sunday 12th October 2014. Stunning scenery, beautiful lake and mediterranean atmosphere in the Piazza. Great service in immaculate surroundings - bit pricey but worth it for a visit and a treat!
It was one of the largest piazza's that I visited on my recent trip to Italy and Switzerland. I happened to be there during their Fall Wine Festival, so the piazza was full of people, booths etc. The cafes and restaurants were crowded and people really seemed to be enjoying themselves.
This is just a short walk from the lake. This is where the restaurants and shops located in Lugano. The layout of the shops and streets remind me of Italy. There are a lot of side walk cafe where one can sip coffee and people watching. We found a shop selling Ben and Jerry Ice Cream!! What a surprise!!
Went on a Saturday and loads of free entertainment and things going on Some pricey cafe's and restaurants around but all very nice
There is a lovely tea room of famous Vanini where you can sit down and enjoy the view of this Luganese square whilst sipping a cappuccino. There are other restaurants around the square but Vanini is a unique experience! You see the world passing by in this "piazza*!
The old part old Lugano is fun to explore and the Piazzas are full of Italian type restaurants were you can sit and let the world go by
Nice place in center of Lugano and near the boat-service to rest after sightseeing or shopping-tour.
This is the true center of touristic Lugano - popular restaurants & creameries, festivals and shopping. During the weekend the street separating the piazza from the lake is closed to only pedestrians. Vanini (café) and Olimpia (casual restaurant) are almost landmarks on this square and although neither is special just taking a seat at either place is a joy, especially in the evening.
Strolling thru Lugano you always end up at this piazza with several restaurants and cafes. The best is Vanini where tables never stay empty too long its place where everybody meets for cappuccino in the morning or aperitif in the evening. Great spot to watch time go by
