Very peaceful insight and remarkable outside - this church went through long history of occupation by Polish, Germans, USSR representatives being used as anything but religious object. Now serves as Catholic Church again. Worth to visit and explore insight-out
Oldest Catholic Church in Minsk center. Was not destroyed during Second World War. Presently open for visits. Interesting Architecture. Near metro station and Goverment palace. Close to the railway station and historical building of the main post office. Recommend to visit
It's a stunning building in the middle of Minsk, next to the parliament building. Very interesting design inside and out. It used to be Dom Kino (house of cinema) in the soviet times, and you couldn't get inside unless you had a pass. The doors are open today for all. Nice!
I Like the curch , and everything around the area, i'm in winter so looks different, all white, nice place
Really like it! Looks wonderful and is a decoration of the square. It's really worth visiting especially on the days of catholic festivals.
It is really a sacred place, spacious and magnificent. I like going there to find silence after being long time in the city. Everyone can contribute by buing a candle or a small picture of Jesus.
Nestled amongst the large soviet style buildings on Lenin Square this beautiful red brick church stands out amongst the bland concrete structures surrounding it. external the church is very drawing however upon entering it is less exciting and the sense of finding some jewel is lost. the interior is much like any other church with no great history or interests within. Sad because this could have been an oasis amongst the grey concrete. Best seen from the square as you walk by
Cute little red church on the edge of the enormous Independence Square. In the Soviet times, they wanted to transform it to a cinema, gladly they have never done that. Entrance is free.
Beautiful church, mostly from the outside, but with an exceptional ceiling. I really loved the story behind its construction. Don't forget to check out the bell.
with its red brik walls it emergs from the nice square around it.....it is very suggestive to see this kind of red Church surrounded by white classic and modern buiding...like a gem out of the basket...
it's nice church...in the center of Minsk, right on the independence square...people there were looking at me strangely, but since I'm Arab it's normal.
Amazing gothic church for all who likes such type of architecture ;)Just add it to your collection of such churches. It's especially great at night, include it in your night Minsk tour
Definitely give it a good walk around since most probably you will be in the vicinity anyway.I personally do not like the dark blue and red wall decor inside, but this is just my personal taste.I personally like to aura of St. Roch church on Golden Hill.
Firstly it's a great point to find your orientation - if you are stood on the main road with your back to it the train station is towards your right, Minsk Dynamo Stadium is straight ahead (down the side streets) and October Square is towards your left. Arguably one of the most iconic and noticeable landmarks in the centre of Minsk just of Lenin Square. For a city that is lacking in tourists because of visa restrictions it certainly has some absolute gems like this that otherwise tourists would flock to in their droves. That said, it is a pleasant change to enjoy a historic sight without a bus full of tourists cramming a camera in your face. There is a massive underground shopping centre just opposite - just head towards the massive glass domes on Lenin Square and find an escalator that will take you underground. Lots of clothes shops and several stalls that sell touristy type things if you want to pick up a memento of your trip or a present for the folks back home.
+ surprising piece of architecture+ brass statue of St.George fighting the dragon- was closed during our visit
