Just entered to the cozy place, you understand that you are back to your childhood. the people born in 80' or 75' will understand that feeling. I do remember how I played with that or another toy...and you?
the Museum has so many good Reviews that we wanted to try it out ourselves and it was definitely woth it! entrance fee is only € 3,50 per Person and you get to see quite a lot. they Display the development of toys (for children and adults) from the stoneage. you get to try out almost everything yourself, from dolls, to wooden games to fusball-tables and even an ice-hockey table. some games seem familiar and some i have never seen before.it takes around an hour to stroll through the small Museum and to try out all the bits and pieces. it's not only made for children but we were there only grown ups and yet it was a great time!
This is atcually the best museum in the world. We with my girlfriend played everything like children. bright and beatiful design and cute staff
First time I came here with my family (and we are all grownups). My dad was saying: "Toy museum? Are you crazy?". Yet we came and enjoyed so much. After playing ship battle, dad didn't have more questions, why it is worth coming. After that, I twice brought my friends and everyone enjoyed. I am now waiting till I have kids to bring there.
This was a total surprise. It is a hand on children museum plus an large play area. The First part of the museum is all about learning about how children played in the old days. The second part was table games and a lot of stuff to play with. You HAVE TO ENTER ON THE SIDE STREET AND GET BUZZED IN. they are their just wait a few seconds.
I took my kids (1, 5, 7, 9). Lots of cool old toys for kids to play with, including some vintage table games in the back room. History of toys from Lithuania and Russia. A few couches with board games in the back too. Kids were running wild...Europe is not big on setting boundaries or teaching their kids to be cautious of littler kids....so the 13 year olds are something to watch out for. There was a big group when we got there, but they left after about 30 min and then it was quiet and nice. Small bathroom, but they have one. I got a few wooden toys when we left and you get 5% off if you visited the museum.
we could not take our kids from there. and ourselves as well - fantastic feeling being a kid again ) you may try fix paint play throw - just do everything you wish to any toy you will find
I took my son to the toy museum together with another couple and their child. I was surprised and delighted at how friendly and helpful the staff were! They gave a tour of the toys while the two children had a wonderful time playing. This is a hands on museum. You do not just look at the art, you PLAY with the art.Only two problems with this place. First, it was VERY hard to find! Fortunately we met friends there. But we arrived 5 minutes early and were looking for the entrance. If it was not for our friends who had been there before, I think we would have been in trouble. Second, my son did not want to leave because he was having so much fun. He cried when it was time to go. How do you remove a kid from a toy museum?By all means if you have kids, take them to the toy museum. Just make sure you have a back up plan, like a phone number, in case you can not find the entrance.
Well, it is the only children adapted museum in Vilnius, so - am happy that there it is at least this! After having lived in Stockholm, this makes me sad, but my 4 year old seemed to be happy there. One can see behind glasses(so not o be touched) some vintage toys, but there are also quite a few to be tried out and enjoyed. Museum is rather small, my girl, nevertheless, spent there like 3 hours. They have a shop as weel, no wifi. An option for kid friendly acivity on a rainy day in Vilnius.
