I was borned in Iasi and I had the enormous honor to perform on one of the stages of this charming building, The National Theatre of Iasi. Few of us now that Iasi was the place where "Hava Nagila", the National Anthem of Israel, was written. And also here, in the Capital of Moldova, took place the first ever Yiddish play.Teatrul National "Vasile Alecsandri" is one of the main institutions of art in Romania and the together with Opera Nationala Romana Iasi, can delight you any time with exquisite performances and a team of excellent artists!
The National Theatre ''Vasile Alecsandri'' - art in all of its formsThere is no wonder that The National Theatre ''Vasile Alecsandri'' is considered as being one of the most impressive among the theatres in the country: the building that we can see today was built in 1896, in rococo style, a style that makes the Theatre a real architectural jewel. Besides its imposing exterior, the Theatre can take pride for promoting art not only through the amazing shows that take place on its stage, but also through the beautiful architecture and decorations from the interior, which complete the artistic experience of any participant at the cultural life of Iasi. Built in 19-th century by Felner and Helmer, two austrian architects it is one of the three build by them. One is in Vienna and the other in Odessa. It has a perfect acoustic and a painted curtain which reveals the destiny predicted by moira.

If tou come to Iasi, National Theater is number one attraction. They did a wonderful job renovating the old building, keeping all the ancient work, exactly how it was. It's really gorgeous architecture, it will keep your eyes happy.Try to see also a performance at the theater, it will worth any second spent inside.
I live in Iasi, so going to the National Theatre is a privilege which I can afford . The building looks extraordinary after the renovation and the interior of the theatre is a real success. If you visit Iasi, a town in the North- East part of Romania, you should definitely spend an evening at the National Theatre. Culture, style, tradition, all in this remarkable landmark.
we went there 10 days ago in a normal day (not show time), the side door was open, there was a TV interview inside. so we enter to see the place(free of charge), and we found it really really gorgeous, beautiful, i dont know how to describe it, but its one of the most beautiful things to see in Iasi. its similar to the Vienna Opera House but a smaller. must to visit!!!!

If you ever come in Iasi please try to visit and buy ticket for a spectacle in this house of art and culture named National Theatre "Vasile Alecsandri". That building is the oldest theatre from Romania built in 1896 with the plans of Viennese architects Fellner and Helmer. The actually building was renovated and now in 2012 the inauguration took place on 5th October. It is a jewel of architecture, painting and much more. So, come to see that in your tour in Iasi.
