Went here for my friend's bachelor party and had a great time. Just be sure to improve your upper body before going, it'll get a workout. Also, be sure to bring gloves or purchase those available at the park, otherwise your hands will get pretty chewed up by the ropes and wires.
This place provides a good way to workout if going to the gym is too boring for you. It is very safe and there are plenty of small kids around to prove it. If you get stuck the staff is there to help you. Most of the tracks are doable but challenging for the average person. You can spend an entire day here and still not complete all the tracks. They have one very difficult track which is a good motivation to train and come back to conquer it.TIP: Bring your own gloves to save a few euros
The Flowpark was a challenge for all levels of experience. The guides monitor from the ground and provide direction if needed. It does seem like there could be a couple more members of the staff to help people out when they get stuck or freak out! There were a couple of times where people got in over their heads and had to rely on the assistance of other patrons. While not a big issue for some, others may not find this ideal. With that said, we enjoyed ourselves and were excited to do things that were beyond the expectations and experience levels of the group. Strength, stamina and determination dictate how well you will succeed at the obstacles and courses. Coupled with a fear of heights, this ropes course may provide a unique challenge for many. We saw people of all ages and abilities succeed at many of the different courses. Overall, we highly recommend this for couples, groups of friends, families and other groups.
The place is only for fit sports people. The staff is not advicing average people and especially families enough to enable them a fun activity. We saw many children crying when facing too hard challenges. The staff was not eager nor capable to help them. Attitude in service is bad but also they are too young and not experienced enough.
It is exciting to try to manage from one tree to another. It is safe and fun! Also my children, 7, 11 and 13 years old like it.
Do not go wearing t-shirt. Long sleeves, water bottle (for drinking), friend and brave mind. It´s a fun challenge. Sometimes you need to be active with the stuff. They know more about climbing than custom service. The flowpark is near the shopping center "Skanssi" and there you can find lockers, toilets etc. If you take a bus, here are the timetables: http://www.foli.fi/en All buses leave from the "tori" / "kauppatori" / market place and there is also information office. The tourist information office is not far.
We were on a cruise and had 1 day in Turku with our 2 kids ages 12 and 10.We decided to take the local bus from the main square (the tourist office told us which one to take but I forgot. The tourist office is 2 blocks from the main square) to Flow park and we had a great afternoon there. The ziplines and other activities are fun, challenging. You can move to more difficult levels once you managed the easy and moderate ones. I thought the safety training was well done but we had done ziplining and adventures park many times. You can have lunch in the shopping center right there.
In the morning the lining to the safety demonstration was not organized at all. People coming after us just get past us and the staff didn't care at all, even if they were advised. So almost an hour extra waiting time for our teens wasn't reasonable. Otherwise the courses were great fun.
I liked Flowpark for the number of different routes. I went there with my girlfriend and we both enjoyed it. We climbed through all the courses and most seemed quite easy, but "Barrel block" was the hardest for both of us. I especially liked the "Slide marathon" and everything that had a slide part in them :)1 thing though - there is a place for some snacks and drinks inside the flowpark area but you can only pay in cash there (or atleast when we were there)
Me and my friends spent an exciting evening at Flowpark with a foreign guest. He also loved it even though he's an experienced adventurer. Tickling nerves!
A bit like 'Go Ape' in the UK. ie high wire courses through the tree tops. There were things for all abilies from say 10 years upwards unless you are too afraid of hights of course.
I'm slightly afraid of heights, but that didn't stop me from enjoying myself thoroughly. The courses were exciting, even slightly terrifying, but in te very best sense. The safety issues were well considered and I felt very safe.We had a wonderful day!
This park with different levels of jungle like climbing / sliding etc. apparatus, is very popular with "kids" of all ages.
Even though I seriously dislike the fear of falling - and actually falling - I had a blast at Flowpark. The place is easily reached with car or public transport. It's next to the Skanssi shopping mall where you can find food and anything else. In Flowpark you'll get the appropriate gear, a helmet and a flashlight if it gets dark. The routes for climbing are marked clearly. Some routes seem almost impossible but they're fun in trying. Every climber has responsability for own safety but after a while it becomes easy too. My 10-year-old brother enjoyed the experience too. Even though it's not the cheapest thing to do, Flowpark surely beats going eating or going to the movies. Adrenaline thrill is what we're after.
This turned out to be the best thing during our holiday in Turku! We didn't know what to expect and at first it was a bit scary. We hadn't tried anything like this before. When you get the hang of it, you really get into a flow. We've already recommended this for our friends and we'll definitely come back for more later this year. The park is easily accessible by bus from the center of Turku.
