Beautiful country park to walk or cycle and find somewhere to have a picnic. Facilities for boating and water sports for all the family.

Country Park is well laid out with Caravan site, Marina, Deer Park and WW2 Museum. The area was a former seaplane base during the Second World War on the shores of Lough Erne. It was a Seaplane from here that spotted the German Battleship Bismark leading to its sinking. We went into the old Court Yard of the former Castle and were surprised how well laid out it was. There is a small Coffee Shop but I think it is only open during the peak summer season. The WW2 museum was not marked but we went to the Park Office and a very helpful girl opened the museum for us which was above her office in the Court Yard. After the museum we walked along some of the many paths on the site passing old WW2 buildings, ammo dumps etc. We also visited the Red Deer Park and were able to get very close to two lovely Stags with great antlers. The Park is well worth a visit if you are in the area and especially if interested in WW2.

We arrived on a rain soaked evening in August as a group of bikers. We were shocked initially at the price for a single night. At £20.00 per person per tent (per night) the price when compared with other campsites in Northern Ireland is, simply, too high. Had it not been raining so hard, we would simply have left and wild camped. (A caravan with electricity hook-up etc is £22.00). Once there the site was exceptionally busy and it took us a good ten minutes to find a pitch. Once we did, there was quite a lot of noise (not surprising given how busy the entire area was). However, although you have to sign a document stating you will not make undue noise after 11pm, it didn't seem to stop people playing music etc quite loudly. Once the music died down (probably around midnight), the sleep was a pleasant one.I woke and went to have a shower in the nearby shower block and they were exceptionally clean and the facilities available plentiful. There were no queues etc and the water was nice and hot. The shower cubicles were very large which meant you could hang clothes etc at one end without them getting wet. The toilet facilities were excellent. Furthermore, there were individuals litter collecting as we were packing up. Although I have no doubt that this is where your money goes, the price is still too high, especially for a tent.

Absolutely brilliant, the skipper was full of local knowledge , It took around 25 mins to get there, we had as long as we wanted on the Island.....The island is ace, the cravings eerie, as are the Cows........

I visited the Castle Archdale Country Park to see the excellent museum to World War II. This was the place where the RAF Flying Boats landed and operated from during the Second World War. There is also an excellent cafe on site but they do not accept credit/debit cards or Euro coins so bring sterling. In the Marina in the park, you can get the Ferry Boat to White Island. The Ferry operates every day in July and August on the hour and costs £4. It is well worth doing and you get to spend 20 minutes on the Island. Make sure to bring a camera. It is truly a mystical place.

Hired a day boat from Castle Archdale. Absolutely fantastic experience. Had planned it as a birthday present for my husband. Perfect gift option. Staff extremely friendly, professional and helpful. Really appreciated the discretion of staff member when dealing with fitting safety wear for the more 'voluptious'. Will be recommending this to all my family and friends.

Lovely place with scenic walks, also a caravan and camping area within the estate along with pony trekking. Some easy cycle paths through various areas of the Estate and cycle hire available at the Marina along with boat hire and ferry to White Island (short distance away). Courtyard area has toilets and coffee shop. Great place to visit. Ducks & swans at the Marina and some picnic tables there also. Learn about past history at exhibits in Courtyard area.
