This spot is an original trig point and has one of the best views of the lovely country side. Need good weather , there is a man made track but needs careful negotion as partly washed away. But worth the climb, and bring a snack to enjoy the view
I had never been up Topped Mountain before and had heard people talk about it so when I saw a sign for it I couldnt resist and I was not disappointed, the view from the top is well worth it!
On a lovely summers day, with the sun shining, what a view you get of Enniskillen and the Fermanagh countryside. Stunning. Maybe a few hand rails here and there for the elderly who want to make the walk - just a thought.
Excellent signposting out of Enniskillen if you follow the map.Bit hilly to get there but we managed a few dodgy hills in our camper. Parking spot available.Lovely walk and view is amazing.
This wonderful viewpoint, sometimes overlooked, is magnificent. A sharp climb leads to a view for miles and the view is 360 degrees. Quite stunning in sunshine or showers, one can watch and absorb this beautiful vista. It's free. Go there. One word if caution the climb by path is steep.
Drove out on a blustery and party cloudy Saturday morning, the small car park is isolated off the Tempo - Enniskillen road, latitude and longitude 54.348053,-7.546234 Make sure to wear training shoes or walking shoes even though the walk is quite short it is fairly steep. Great views, would be a decent spot for picnic.
I love the fact that it is a bit of a hike up the side of the hill and then to be rewarded with a stunning view. It is particularly amazing at night or on Halloween or when there is an amazing sunset.
Park your car at the road and climb a rocky grassy path to the mountain top. It took us no more than 10 minutes on a cold and cloudy November day. The view from the top is superb providing an extensive 360 degree vista that includes Lower and Upper Lough Erne and much of the western half of Northern Ireland. Highly recommended!
We walk to Topped a few times every year. Its very refreshing when you get to the top, very steep incline heart pounding stuff but good. Fantastic views all around.
Topped mountain dominates northwestern Fermanagh. It's so called because of the prominent cairn on the summit, upon which is a modern triangulation post. The steep path from the little carpark has recently been renovated, but proper footwear is advised for the ten minute climb. There is a thoughtful bench to rest halfway up.The view from the top is wonderful. On a clear day the Sperrin mountains to the north, Clogher valley to the east, and all of Fermanagh to the west are laid before you. Fermanagh's air is so clear and pollution-free that binoculars can show boats on Lough Erne many miles away!An idyllic place, which you'll likely have all to yoursef.
