Went here on Christmas Eve with Family. The atmosphere was Great , the crac was Mighty and the Guinness is not bad either. The place was very busy and the service was excellent. Gary and the staff have always time to talk to you. Been here to for the Jazz and Blues festival in June and I would recommend it.
Franks is the best pub in the town! The Craic is ninety and the Guinness is even better! Go during a Jazz and blues it's even more special!
We arrived for a surprise party for a friend over the weekend and the hospitality and welcome from the owner was amazing. He kept our ,luggage on a secure area while we went for something to eat before the other guests arrived. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and everyone welcomes you with a smile.
I've been visiting Limavady regularly for ten years now, and I always pop into Frank Owens bar for a few pints when I'm up there. I've been to countless other pubs all over Ireland, but can honestly state that Franks is BY FAR the very best pub in all of Ireland. Gary is a perfect host, and the drink is always spot on. The staff are superb, bar none, and the craic is always mighty. The customers are a friendly bunch, and in my opinion all other bars could learn a thing or two from Gary and his staff about creating the perfect Irish pub. One hundred percent recommended.
We were told to go here by a relative who lived close by, in fact she dropped us off there. We had a warm welcome from the bartender, while we waited for our Guinness to settle he invited us into the front room and lit the fire for us, so we took a seat and waited patiently until he brought the drinks in for us. It was well worth the wait, I've always been told that Guinness is better over in Ireland, and it's safe to say it is. I'd definitely drink here again.
Deservedly voted the best pub in Limavady. Very friendly and welcoming and a great atmosphere. It's quite a small place, so you're guaranteed to strike up some very enjoyable conversation with the locals and the craic makes it all the more enjoyable.
Franks as everyone knows it is in my opinion, the best pub I have ever had a pint in, and that's a lot of completion. The staff are always warm and friendly, the beer is always at the correct temperature and best of all the 'crac' is always great. One of the nicest things about this pub is that it has two open fires in separate rooms that each will hold 10-20 people so the atmosphere is always good. Its the kind of bar where everybody chats to everyone else, you don't have to come from Limavady to have a great night full of fun and laughter in this place. Out the back there is an extra bar in a tented area where live music is often playing.
always a welcome when you come in the door and the staff are always friendly. I would strongly recommend it if u are in the limavady area
By far the best pub, best staff and best guinness in northern Ireland in my opinion.I come here regular and when you see people from many many different countries coming here under recommendations from family and friends it speaks for itself
Been all around the island many times and this is without a doubt the best of the best. Quaint, pleasant place to enjoy a cold one. The absolute friendliest staff. Gary, Victoria, Aoife, Terrence and the rest of the staff make you feel at home. And the locals, well great craic. Will be back during all my trips over.
F.O's is an exceptionally friendly lively pub, If you get the chance a visit when the Limavady Folk and blues festival is on, this takes lively to a new high. The beers are in perfect condition, however even the bitter is served very cold, something we English have to get used to.From the minute you enter your welcomed and embraced by the locals and bar staff so you'll never feel you're drinking aloneThis is a fine example of a no frills pub. Brilliant!
been motorcycling to ireland for about twenty years know, and its a tradition that me and my friends pay a visit to ( franks ). there is always a great welcome by garry ( one of franks sons ) and the girl ( forgotten her name ) behind the bar, the atmosphere is great, the locals always have time for a chat. in my opinion if you want a pint of guinness frank's is the place to go!!!!!.cheers till next year ian
Frank Owens has got the atmosphere, customer service and craic that all tourists are looking for in an Ulster pub. If you want to sit in a small group and enjoy your own company, or sit at the bar and listen to some man from Drumsurn, talk about sheep, Franks is the place to go. It is still known for the best pint of Guinness in the county. It has a famous customer now and again, Darren Clark. He even donated the flag from the 18th hole of the course he won his British Open in 2011. So if u are in the County of Derry, Frank Owens is a must to visit.
Limavady is like a second home for me and the family. We have becoming over for about 10 years or so now. I always pop in Frank's with my pal Oscar Harper for pint and a few vodka and cokes. It's always a warm welcome with plenty of crack. Paul Clarke was in one night I was there.
If you are staying in the Radisson or Limavady area you should definetely check out Owen's bar [or Frank's, as it's known to the locals] or the Corner Bar.Now Limavady is not the busiest or best town in the whole world, except during the brilliant Jazz festival but if you are looking for a quiet mid week drink or somewhere busier during the weekend, these are quite good.Frank's is like a house from the county plunked down in the middle of the town. lovely especially in the winter when the fire roars out. during the jazz festival they put a marquee out the back so no excuse not to have a pint in the hand. The corner bar usually has good entertainment at the weekend and a couple of good sized bars to get served. also excellent during jazz festival.Be warned at the jazz festival toilets are limited for the ladies. so take extra toilet roll and prepare your bladders. but what good craic there is!also in the town if you want a cheap beer is the rugby club. very mixed age crowd and usually small fee at door on saturday night but best best thing is subsidised alcohol and cheesy cheesy music!!!
