Perfect spot for all ages and abilities to enjoy the outdoors. Whether a gentle stroll, a family day out or a strenuous hike/run, this is the place to go!
This place brings back fond memories. I was there yesterday and the sky was blue and sunny. I went for a long walk and it really is amazing that you can be in a forest park and suddenly juxtaposed to the shores of the Belfast Lough. Great for a solo walk or with family/friends.
A beach very close to Belfast in a beautiful setting. Abundant car parking. So much for the positives.Negatives: Annoying dog owners and their dogs. Very few dogs on leash, most of them roaming freely on the beach. Had kids on the beach building a sandcastle, a dog came and urinated half a metre from the place where they were playing. The owner didn't even blink. Zero enforcement of rules by the local authorities. The cafe in the Visitor Centre is a disaster, and I'm being really generous here. Should be used as an example of how NOT to run a business. Eight members of staff running around, a lot of movement, but little effect. One person had some sort of a problem with her card while paying. Instead of another member of staff taking over other customers while the problem was dealt with by the original member of staff working at the till, everything stopped and a long queue developed. Adaptation to new situation unheard of. When it was finally my turn, I was originally told to pay by cash (although my bill was above the limit for the card payment). I ordered two cups of coffee, each of them different type. The person who prepared them couldn't tell which one was which. Neither could I. The explanation I got from him in the end was that they are basically the same (!). My first and last visit to this cafe. It's a shame that such a beautiful place cannot be organised better.
Went with our 2 kids. Loved the beach and the park walks. Clean and open. Plenty of adventures. The cafe at the park is decent enough but very expensive - nearly £20 for 4 soft drinks and 4 snacks! Think it will be a picnic the next visit and we will definitely go again as its great for letting the kids run free!
Despite signs telling dog owners to keep dogs on a leash a lot of them are not heeding. This would otherwise be a superb park and a great place to bring kids. I have witnessed 1st hand a number of incidents and fear that one day someone will get hurt badly. For this reason I do not bring my children here for walks which is such a shame. Apart from that, it is a bit intimidating to have to deal with off leash dogs jumping up on me and invading my space and extremely irritating and selfish of the owners to claim the dog is "just being friendly/nosy" etc etc. Many good owners visit too and pick up dirt after their dogs. Unfortunately, the last few times I visited the park I ended up having to wash my shoes when I got home.Such a shame this law could not be enforced or policed better as otherwise this is a 5 star location.
A beautiful golden sandy beach, worthy of the Med. In the Summer it is glorious, although can get crowded at times. The restaurant is great and the promenade takes you a few miles into Bangor.
the sea view and the walk along the coastline looking out towards Scotland. The area at this time of the year is so peaceful.
Love summer and winter walks in Crawfordsburn, absolutely gorgeous. The place will be absolutely heaving in the hot summer months but still worth the visit. Bring your own food and toilet paper though because the cafe isn't great and there's rarely toilet paper in the public toilets

A gem of a place on the County Down Coast - well worth visit if you have never been. The amenities are excellent. The park itself is great for walks and runs. The beach and coastal walk are just stunning, and just 15 minutes from the City.
We used to love this cafe (..we being vegetarian/vegan .)..there was always a great vegetarian menu ...food was made to order ... alas no more.....food sits buffet style...plates are cold...very disappointing. ...In fact..awful
Good standard of food, and staff are very pleasant. Have visited on several occasions and have never been disappointed. Have to say food is very home made, especially the rhubarb tarts.
We walk on the beaches which are well maintined as well as walking in some of the wooded parts. There are welcome loos and a very reasonable cafe A good place for humans adn dogs as well.
A perfect stop off between Bangor and Holywood/Belfast for a picnic, great trails to walk and chill out, perfect on a sunny day.
