Glad we called here to play during a visit to Carnoustie. I actually preferred this to Carnoustie, but perhaps my opinion was coloured by playing better here. It is well worth a visit. Our only disappointment was the very long trek to the practice ground.

I just loved it.True links in Scotland.I would love to play there again. The weather was sunny and hot,not bad for South Africans visiting Scotland !!

What a wonderful golf course a true links course with some lovely view of the town and out to sea on the front 9. Played with a member so only cost £20 to good to be true. The course was in fine condition and was a true test of golf.

A must play golf course. We played it as a 4 ball in lovely warm conditions and wind was not too strong. Greens were in great condition and ran true.Several tough holes but some good birdie chances as well. All four of us enjoyed it immensely, but know that it would be a different beast if the wind blows and it rains.Members and staff made us very welcome at the Royal Montrose clubhouse across from first tee.Food was very good and good value. Will definitely return to play again.

This is a very old course, one of the oldest in the country, good playing surface, very well laid out, and is close to the town.

This is the 5th oldest course in the world, established in 1562. The course is mostly flat, very near the ocean. Lots of heather throughout, making finding an errant shot difficult. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Its only an hour or so drive from Glasgow to the course and worth the detour just for the history.

This is a must play golf course 5th oldest in the world. And even in the winter months unless severe frost you are playing to the greens and you do not use mats on the fairways just play you shot from the grass. If there is bad frost then we have winter greens to play over 18 holes

This is a classic links course and in 2012 celebrated its 450th year as it is the 5th oldest course in the world. I hugely enjoying playing it, and it attracts golfers from all over the world.

The first day of my visit turned out to be a calm, warm and sunny one. Adding to this pleasure, I found good company on this stunning course. A great links course, with all the beauty and faith you can expect. Marvellous from tee 1 to green 18, I couldn't enjoy it more!
