blackstone clydesdales & dig-a-day experience

My 10 year old spent over 2 hours driving diggers. Absolutely loved it. John was fantastic. So funny. Margaret was very welcoming and made us feel at home. Andrew was great too. Lovely family. Great day. Highly recommend this activity.

i was giving a blackstone voucher from my man as a birthday gift it was two hours with the clydesdale and two hour driving the digger at first i was thinging i would not like it but how wrong i was i had a great time with john showing me how to drive the small and the big digger at the site i was that gd i just stayed at the site driving the digger when u get into it you dont wont to stop so i did not get to ride the clydesdale but i recommend it watt a great day you will have .

Fab day out and staff excellent. My son and I had a great day and I have no hesitation in recommending. Loads of fun and in safe hands. Cool cat too, it has thumbs!

I bought my husband a voucher for Blackstone Clydesdale for Christmas and we booked our ride for 2nd January even though we knew the weather could be bad. The Scottish climate didn't let us down, it was windy with rain and hail showers but what a great time we had. My husband is a beginner and the wonderful Captain took such good care of him. My daughter and I rode Randolph and Alfie and they were fabulous even when the wind was at its worst.The love John shows his horses is very touching and it is obvious they love him just as much. Lynsey and Darren accompanied us on our ride and were lovely even though they were freezing. A lovely welcome on arrival and a much needed cup of coffee when we finished our ride made this a brilliant experience for all of us. We will definitely be back to visit in the summer and hopefully get to see the foals that are due this year.

Had a wonderful day, enjoyed seeing all the big beautiful horses, grooming them and even having a ride on Maytime which I throughly enjoyed as I haven't been on a horse in 40 years and the experience was made must easier by the patients of John. My guest and I were made welcome and I was truely given the VIP treatment. The pictures taken by Pearl captured the whole experience. All staff are very friendly and I recommend you give it a go.

My sister booked a beach ride for us both for my birthday last week and it was fantastic. All the correspondence and arrangements went smoothly, and we were met at Ayr beach by John and Andrew with Randolph and Alfie. They provided (size-adjustable) hats and highvis tabards and dealt with our nerves very well! I hadn't ridden in years and my poor sister looked plain terrified but they put us at our ease and we had a lovely, sedate time - no pressure to do anything we weren't comfortable with. The horses were beautiful and well-behaved, John and Andrew were friendly and funny and a nice touch at the end was the little certificate and goody bag. A very memorable birthday present. Thank you to all at Blackstone.

I booked a ride on Ayr beach for my sister's birthday in October this year. We were lucky with the weather, and although we were a bit nervous as beginners, John and Andrew were great at putting us at ease. We had a really fun hour's ride along the beach, in and out of the sea, and a good laugh. A very enjoyable morning and a memorable birthday present - thank you, Blackstone!

Recently rode Randolph at Ayr beach, and it was a great experience!! I'm not back to cantering yet, but that didn't deter the others. Thanks again to John, Magi and Andrew for a great day.

Took a relative up to the farm as he had a wish to ride on a Clydesdale, didn't actually ride but promised Andy I would write the review for him. We were shown around the farm by all of the family and introduced to all the horses, really enjoyed this. Andy got to curry and comb his horse before he put the bridle on and the saddle, watched carefully and advised by Darren. Was a bit too wet for me but Andy was obviously ignorant of the weather as he was enjoying himself too much. Well worth the day out and although I didn't ride had a thoroughly good day and enjoyed every minute. Might try the digger next time myself.

I do not normally leave reviews, but I feel that it is important to let you all know about our experience at Blackstone Farm on Saturday 18th October 2014.On our arrival, we (4 Adults and 2 Children) received a very friendly welcome from everybody at the Farm. We all chose to ride for an hour and enjoyed every-minute of it.I would definitely endorse the ‘photo service’ and on our next visit will opt for lunch in their Farmhouse.Thanks to everyone at Blackstone.
