The castle is currently undergoing restoration and repair so it`s not fully open. Nevertheless what was available was very interesting. Made more so by a tour guide (Donna)who new her stuff. She talked us through the parts of the building we were able to visit and only once referred to a note regarding a date. Even with all the questions we were asking she was never put off her stride. This tour gave us an insight into how life was lived way back then and was a most enjoyable way to spend a wet afternoon. I would recommend taking the guided tour it is much more enjoyable that way. Because of the weather all we saw of the Park was the walk up to the Castle, but this included a herd of Roe Deer wandering through the trees. We will most certainly return, hopefully to see the park properly without dodging the weather.
I love visiting this park. Lovely walks, good that there are animals there and to top it off I love the cafe.I do visit often and is suitable for all.
This is a fantastic park, some lovely walks, a good play area for children, and lots of animals to see.
Not sure if it's quite a tourist attraction but it's a lovely park with a great castle to visit. The cafe could do with being made a bit more cosy but it's council run so what do you expect. The space is wonderful and I am grateful to the council for it's upkeep.
I was recommended this Park to visit with my kids by a friend. We visited during a school holiday in February.Overall we all enjoyed our visit with lots to see and things to do. I was surprised that the park seemed fully open since it was mid winter with lots of animals out and about.Kids enjoyed the play area and were happy just to roam about in the woods.Only gripe I have is that In my opinion the cafe is over priced. I would suggest a pack lunch if weather permits. We will definitely return maybe in the summer months
Went for a walk on a chilly Sunday afternoon. Lots of parking. Free to walk around lots of diffrent routers. Great wee animal section and plat park for small and bigger kids! Will def be back to pass a few hours!
There is nothing not to like, lovely walks great piece of history.Helpful staff.Often have themed events.Large car park, dog friendly
Some beautiful scenery here. The castle is under maintenance right now but when the scaffolding is down it looks great. Good for a family day at the park. We had our wedding pictures taken here in December.
some lovely walks through the park with the animals at Pets Corner always worth a look. Visitor centre is very good with a good cafe.
I grow up playing In this park in the 70s.Took my kids there, now returned with my dog. Lots of changes animals walks, river so much to do and see. A lovely day out. With a nice we tea room as well. And its all for free amazing.
Dean Park is a great place to walk around when it's cold and frosty. The park is very well kept and the design of the paths give you the choice of a long hike, medium walk or a short stroll. Put on your wellies and wrap up for the big walk around the castle and treat yourself to a nice cup of tea at the cafe. Mmmmmm, winter.
Great service and good food. Good value for money. Nice cosy area to sit in after your meal with a real fire.
Beautiful Dean castle country park, plenty to do and see, kids play area, lots of animals, tea rooms, nature walks, wide green areas, castle with guides on hand to answer questions

The grounds are beautiful, with lotsof wild life, squirrels and deer and a great duck pond. A great children's adventure playgroundand cafe too.
Lots of great things to do like explore a castle enjoy the animals or let the kids run wild in the playgrounds. During the summer months they hoist things like car shows etc and there are lots of beautiful walks. All this is for free. When you are done exploring there is a tearoom to rest your weary legs .
