Beautiful beach with many scenic views and many dunes. Lovely. Has many walks and great walk for taking dogs.
If the weather is good then you will love it. We did try to find an ice cream shop and walked half a mile and still didn't find one. We went on the beach and even though it was clean it was difficult to walk on because of the stones.
I am always at Findhorn beach with my family whatever time of the year. It is such a pleasure to be here. You can see the seals , watch the boats coming in and out of the bay, listen to the jets overhead, or just relax , or have a dip in the sea. Highly recommend any time of the year. At one end of the beach are old war watch turrets submerged in the sand, a must see for avid war enthusiasts.
Gorgeous beach - we went on cold windy day in December and the seals were calling on beach in distance and the sky was ENORMOUS.
The Findhorn Bay and beach area is a wonderful place to explore for wildlife and nature lovers. Wear some good boots, take a pair of binoculars with you, and dress warmly as the wind can make it get very cold. The area changes a lot between low and high tides. I was told that just by the Findhorn Foundation there is bird blind where you can see more birds during high tide. During low tide you can walk way out on the mud flats (make sure you know when high tide comes in). My favorite area is on the beach, facing the ocean behind the hatching area. You need to walk a bit during low tide but head for the channel area (where the river joins the ocean). Low tide allows you to get quite close to a colony of grey seals that live on the banks of the other side We counted 20 both days we were there. Stand on the edge of the channel and you will see that several will swim out of curiosity to within 20 meters of you. Remember to take boots as the sand is very wet even if it looks dry.
Loved the whole experience, including the scramble down the pebble embankment to the sand. I will be back :)
Breathtakingly lovely when we visited. Sand dunes, white sand, pebbles, loads of driftwood. We saw seals and watched a group of gannets fishing; constantly diving into the sea. Peaceful and relaxing
Walked along the beach for hours with the dogs so tranquil and relaxing and we did not meet anybody for hours just us and the sea.
Lovely mixture of pebble and beautiful white sand beach, and lots of it! Good parking with toilets en-route to the beach, which is a short walk from the car park and over the dunes. Lovely for paddling as my children did. Also good for the dogs to have a run about on. We were lucky and saw several seals in the sea whilst we were there as well!!
Findhorn North Shore is an unspoilt beach. Beautiful and wild, well worth a visit. Great in summer and wild in winter.
Nice sand, nice cafe and ice cream place, bit pricey for food though! Views fantastic, good parking too.
Beautiful views just a short way from a high street area so you get the best of both shopping and seaside.Sadly the sandy area is a bit of a hike from the stone quay area ,but well worth a visit

I loved the size of the beach and the way the tide goes in and out every six hours. The beach stretches for miles and is lined by large grassy dunes.
We were here on holiday for a week and were at the beach every day just a short walk from where we stayed-there are pebbles for those who don't like sand to sit on and lovely white sand for those of us who do. Very clean and the tide comes up quite far so it's just a short way away for kids to play safely in the water with the adults sitting nearby. Beautiful views across the bay like a holiday brochure.
