By far the best bar in Elgin.Friendly staff, very nicely decorated and furnished and with a great selection of drinks. Lots of beers from the local breweries (Brewmeister, Brewdog, Deeside Speyside, Spey Valley, Windswept and quality lagers (Innis & Gunn, St Mungo's - West Brewery), whiskys and gins that you can't get elsewhere in Elgin! No loud music so you can relax and catch up with friends over a good drink.Children are also welcome during the day and it is a good place to relax with a coffee and cookie. The bar also hosts Music and comedy nights in the upstairs function room, that also has a nice bar.
As the title suggests we only went for a brew...oh and a bit of cake and was a bit disappointed that the service was slow and others who ordered after us received their order before us very frustrating. The cappuccino ...was below par as it was overflowing with coffee and no foam top to speak of. The cake and scones were very nice and worth a try. I just hope the service and coffee making skills improve otherwise it is a nice venue away from the Starbucks and costas of this world.
The Drouthy Cobbler is a great addition to Elgin's pubs. The events they run are always good value and well attended. Staff friendly and very adept at getting out from behind the bar and offering second, third, fourth drinks! Very good for the business and also the customers. Only issue I have is some of the drinks are pricey. A pint of Innes & Gunn is £4.30 here and only £2.65 in Wetherspoons next door. I know not comparing apples with apples but still. Other thank that I have been in during the day for coffee as well as for a beer at night and at some of the events they have held and it has been great.
i have been going into the drouthy cobbler for nearly 2 year's,i find it friendly and the staff are excellent and friendly, there is a great selection of quality beer's.i also take my little girl's in on Saturday for great hot chocolate and cookies, and they think it is great.
Elgin is sadly lacking in decent bars, and the Drouthy Cobbler is a real gem. The environment is great - inside and outside (weather permitting). The whisky selection and cocktail menu look fantastic. However, we were overjoyed to see Schiehallion on tap - a great craft lager. If they'd served food, we'd have stayed all night, but nonetheless it was a great pub. Same again tomorrow night, please!
We are lucky to have this bar on our doorstep in Elgin, a hidden gem if there was ever one . The whiskey selection is phenomenal and there is always something new to taste on the beer pumps if you like your craft beers. The staff are super friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable. It's certainly has changed since it was Flannigans with quite a few tweaks to the decoration. It gets busy at the on weekends and there is regular live music that caters for all tastes in a venue that is intimate and makes great entertainment. If you are looking for a quiet pint you would do well to come in on on a Sunday of during the week.
Thank you for your feedback. I am very sorry that our service to you was sub-standard on the evening in question. A welcoming hello and polite goodbye are simple courtesy and our team usually need no prompting there. We aim to foster an environment where everybody can feel welcome and we obviously have failed badly on this occasion. I will raise this review with the team and explore what went wrong with a view to making improvements.
Been here on a number of occasions with a few friends of mine and the standard has never slipped. Over 100 whiskies which I LOVE as well the largest selection of gin I have ever seen. Good selection of any alcohol and the utter mlost praise to the staff who are happy and excellent at what they do. Will always be back.
Staff are excellent - very welcoming and professional. Both times that I've been there it's been lively but not so lively as you can't have a conversation. Great atmosphere, spotlessly clean and attractive decor - really enjoyed it.
This is a great pub to relax in. Great choice of beers, gins and whiskies. They also run events and tastings which elgin is crying out for.
We found this place purely by chance and have returned for delicious coffee and refreshing beer during our time in Elgin. Warm welcome, comfortable surroundings and fast wifi - perfect!
Our hotel recommended this pub and although it's down an alley akin to a Harry Potter film it's a brilliant pub! Staff super friendly. The atmosphere was buzzing and lively. We managed to get a table. An excellent pub. Will definitely be coming back.
good beer local brews from the bottle, good atmosphere, modern finish, gins with cucumber available, coffees and tea too. Professional friendly young bar staff. OK for females and men too. Up market for elgin. cosy seating and bar games chess- etc to keep amused.
Hidden in one of Elgins passageways, this place has a warm welcoming environment selling the best beers I've had in the UK for some time. For those that have been to Bruges and sampled their beers, this place could give them a run for their money. It also sells a wide range of whiskey but I'm not a whiskey drinker so cannot comment. If you want a genial atmosphere, great beers, friendly staff, whether you pop in for one drink or to while away the evening this is a great place to go.
Visited a few times during the Summer for coffees. Very good service, great coffee and well priced. The loyalty stamps are a great deal too. Lively or laid back depending on the time of day/night you attend. Wish there was food available but overall one of the best coffees in Elgin.A hidden gem indeed.
