i played 9 holes of this fine course on a very wet day at the end of a wet week.its a very interesting course quite high up with great views.Despite the weather it was very playable with the greens in good condition.I liked the streams and natural water hazards. On a dry day this course would look great.Next time I would like to play the full 18holes.
Great course and a good challenge. Also very well maintained. excellent value for what we paid for twighlight golf. not 5 stars cause of distance to walk between tees.
We arrived at the course early there was a good few cars in the car park,we went up to get a tea/coffee and something to eat,but the bar/kitchen was closed(10am).We were told by the pro that we had to play from edge of rough there was no plastic mats. The course itself was in good condition apart from temp green (9th) the temp green was not cut and was just like playing of the light rough. The greens were were ok in need of a cut and were very slow. The course was itself will be great in the summer, with some great views. At the 18th as we walked to the Tee a green keeper looked up at us from the 18th Green and started to cut a new hole position on the 18th green he took his time and we had to wait in the rain while he cut the new hole, not good enough!!As we all dried off we went up to the bar and to get something to eat and to our surprise the Bar & Kitchen was closed. If this is how the Golf Club want to attract visiting golfers then the club and it's facilities will have to improve, when we phone to book a 4 ball for a tee off time we were not told anything about edge of rough, no mats, bar & kitchen closed. We would hesitate in coming back to the golf club.
Had a great day but after the howling rain of the few days before our visit on 19 April 2013, it was a nightmare going round for me. I was accompanying my husband and the day was incredible warm and sunny but the wetness of the fairways etc made it like a quagmire and I was in thonged sandals! Needless to say it was slippy and slidy all the way for me and hard work! Couldn't caddy but I had a good excuse as I could hardly walk! Nice course though. Xx
Plain homely food. Not always open in the eveing. Phone to check
beautiful clubhouse more suited to a five star golf club. Great bar prices and a great challenge for the visiting golfer. Seriously hilly though and plays longer than you think.Well worth a visit and you will get a warm welcome
Nice up and down course and well maintened.....if you can get on with a member go for it. All types of different holes and a great view of Sterling and surrounding in distance.
