The coastal walk around the small loch and up to the cliffs is breathtaking. There are many different coves, cliffs and vantage points to take in the views and explore and it is worth wandering slightly from the track to discover these. What I adore about this walk is the mix of landscapes and locations in one condensed area; the loch and the swans that swim between the reeds to the colourful palate of the cliff faces.

Lots of interest in this small working harbour between dive boats and crab/ lobster boats .Also in the summer many leisure boats to be seen . RNLI station has an inshore life boat which plays a major part in the area.

Love St Abbs and St Abbs Head. Great unspoilt little fishing village with a superb coastal walk around the Head (about 2 hours - 5 miles). The walk to the lighthouse and back round by the mere is superb with great views out to sea. Don't miss the visitor centre and the monument to the Scottish fishing disaster.

The road to St. Abbs after the A1 Berwick-on-Tweed-Edinburgh highway is narrow, winding and no doubt congested in high season - but all that is worth every moment as you catch your first sight of this charming seaside village perched on a grass cliff. Below is the idyllic harbour. At the top is the Visitor Centre which is well worth a visit in itself (see separate review) . he upper part of St. Abbs consists of a few roads lined with pretty cottages. Flowers, mostly in pots, are everywhere and it is clear the residents are proud of their house frontages and gardens, small though they are. Magnificent views of the bay are enhanced by St. Abbs Head, a rocky promontory that is a favorite nesting place for countless seabirds - terns, kittiwakes, puffins, razor bills, guillemots etc.etc. There is free parking at the entrance to the village and the Visitor Centre is immediately opposite.

The harbour is worth a detour from the A1, particularly in the morning when the fishermen are about. Nice rocks to explore and views of St Abbs Head.

What a charming, quaint old fashioned fisherman's village. Gorgeous coastal views and lovely old docked fishing boats. A photographer's dream! It is also known for diving excursions.

Rain or shine. Summer or winter this little harbour has a great view. Crashing waves enhance the visit. Good spot for seagrass spotters. The tearoim sells great scones, just make sure you go early enough for them.

Just bought a static caravan with all mod.cons including central heating at Coldingham. near St. Abbs. Crosslaw Caravan Park has a 4star rating. We are at the top of a hill and have a wonderful view down to the sea. The village is attractive and has the necessary food shop! The site has many facillities including a cafe and a bar. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to settle in. Just have to collect pots, pans, cuttlery and anything else I can think of to make a home from home.

Good food excellent company with the locals and the fishermen, my husband said he had not tasted fresh crab like the crab that was served in years

Parked near Smiddy's cafe and walked along the coastal route to the lighthouse. Quite a strenuous walk to the lighthouse, but well worth the effort. Can recommend it and also the coffee and scone at the cafe on the way back. The gallery is worth a visit too.

I had heard of St Abbs before, and seen it on wildlife shows on tv, but this was my first visit to this small but delightful place, and I was not dissapointed. There is a small harbour, where you can watch the boats, and the divers getting ready for their swim. There is a small but lovely cafe right by the harbour. The views from the cliff tops, especially from the visitor centre are stunning. The centre itself is well stocked with souveniers, and there is a good telescope where you can watch the nesting birds on the cliiffs, and if you are lucky you can watch them diving for fish. If you are feeling quite fit, you can also walk up to the lighthouse on St Abbs Head, which is quite a walk, but well worth the effort involved for the wonderfull views of the area. All in all, a lovely place to visit, hope to go back there next year.

You need to visit to appreciate the beautiful village that is St Abbs. So friendly clean and tidy. A must on any sight seeing visit in the area.

This place is the best kept secret. Good cages and views of the sea and the cliffs. If you are a diver this area has some great diving.

If you have a bit of time to spare head for this little fishing village. There is a small café right on the harbour side the water is clear and the landscape is outstanding. This is truly a hidden gem
