This is a really good distillery to visit, great tour, well set out and fantastically well explained process. Very clean, truly great. Nothing to fault, recommend a visit.

Visited on a deal we found online. Had a great time on the tour then getting to blend our own whisky. Guide was really informative and friendly.

We visited Glengoyne Distillery at the end of a working day, with a business relation who was new to whisky and distilleries. As such this was an excellent choice, as the distillery is very beautiful and is set all alone in a beautiful natural environment. The typical image one has of a Scottish distillery. The visitor shop is nicely laid-out with quite a choice of products, including leatherware and books, and a good place to begin and end your visit. A lot of attention all through the tour is devoted to the pedagogical aspects, and the wall showing the varying colors of whisky matured from 1 to 21 years, in various types of casks was very informative, even for a whisky veteran such as I.We took the "No1 Warehouse Tour" which includes filling your own 20cl bottle straight from either a Bourbon or sherry cask, and I would recommend that tour for any of you out there who, like me, may not be such fans of the watered-down 40% OB Glengoyne expressions. When I did taste the cask-strength versions of Glengoyne, it was quite a revelation (in particular the Bourbon-cask one).

Great time here tasting the lovely malts on offer. We seemed to spend longer in the shop than we did on the tour though. its a well run tour, very informative and fun. I think the teapot dram is my new favourite malt. Fabulous. Thank you to all for a great day out.

Booked into the Whiskey master class tour which was excellent. Kathy our tour guide was very knowledgeable about her product. It was also a cold day but she was very cheerful. We got to taste one 10 year old and one 18 year old and also a blended whiskey. In the master class you get to make your own by mixing a base of a blended whiskey plus 6 other malts. You can also sip these to taste. The end product is 110ml bottle which you have made so it is unique and you get to take that away. I am not a whiskey drinker but the Glengoyne went down a treat. The other staff we met were very polite and cheery. All in all a good experience. Look out for local voucher deals as these can be half the price. They do tours from 45mins to 5 hours and you can get a no 10 bus from Glasgow straight to the door. Leave the car and enjoy the whiskey.

My tour of Glengoyne certainly brightened up a rather grey and dismal Sunday afternoon. I went along with my dad on a master blender tour which was bought as a Christmas present for him. From the very beginning we were immersed in the distillery and its beautiful surroundings (an old waterfall that used to provide the water supply for the whisky). from there we were treated to an informative tour around the premises by our lovely guide Patty. Throughout our hour and a half tour we saw the entire distillery and sampled a range of whisky. The real treat came at the end though when we got to make and keep our own blend of Glengoyne whisky. It was a real novelty to be able to try our hand at making our own whisky and having the opportunity to try the different whiskeys on offer. I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning more about whisky or indeed Scotland. The tour is worth it for the views alone !

Bought this for my partner and dad's Christmas through a voucher deal. Worth every penny. The tour lasts over an hour and a half and extremely informative. You get to make your own Whisky at the end which is a real treat. Definitely recommended.

Spent a fascinating few hours at this picturesque and interesting distillery. Well worth a visit. The staff know their stuff and are rightly proud of their product. Of course you are then tempted to spend in the shop, but you would be wouldn't you?

Did a blender tour. Made my own whisky. Great fun and very unique. Alistair was a great tour guide. Just make sure you are not the designated driver that day!!! Worth the scenic drive. Good parking at location too.

My boyfriend and I were staying in Glasgow for the weekend and decided to go to glengoyne distillery. And I'm so glad we did!! It was the highlight of our trip. The staff were so friendly and our tour guide Anne was very informative and interesting! And the scenery was so beautiful. It started to snow when we got there, it was so pretty and the delicious glengoyne whiskey warmed us right up. It really is a must see. Thanks to all the staff for looking after us so well when we missed our bus back to Glasgow!

With 3 of my pals, using Itson vouchers, we all thought this was the best tour we had done. It started with an introduction from Bill, our guide for the visit, a short informative video and, guess what, a wee dram taster. It was then onto the tour and Bill was so knowledgeable and presented in a very intersting talk, it was a great experience. It was easy to see how whisky making was started with the use of storey boards, displays and hands on experiences into the barley etc. You could go back in time and see the changes in distilling in todays modern world. There are some stairs to climb so mobility is necessary. Also, turn off your mobiles and cameras when in the inside of the distillery premises. Then, off we went to have another 2 Scotch tastings and more information before finishing in the shop where we were providec our 4th ( and last free dram) which was a 21 year old malt and "quite expensive" to buy. There is no coffee shop (just up the road is a nice cafe in a garden centre) but plenty of washrooms. The distillery can be accessed by bus or taxi - check the bus timeson line as they only run once an hour. There is a large free car park but remember the new Scottish alcohol driving limits which are much lower than England and Wales.

Very informative. The basic tour which includes a dram of 12 yr old malt is only £6. A further tasting of an older malt brought the cost to £11. There are more tastings at various prices. Knowledgeable staff. Nice shop with £5 off standard size bottle of whisky.

My partner treated me to a " malt master " blending session . A great , informative tour of the distillery and then the real fun began. Was given five superb malts to try individually and then blend , making up my own uniquely blended 200 ml bottle. If you are passionate about single malt this is the your for you. Our guide was Cathy and she was simply fantastic. Spent a fortune in the interesting shop afterwards as well. Simply a marvellous experience.
