This is a great track to add to the Old Course experience. This was 1 of the 5 courses we played and I ranked it number 2 behind the Old Course. We were really lucky as the day we played the course the wind was no a factor but still this is a keeper and fun to play.
Played here years ago now back for a second try. The course is alright, but not as good as others in the area. The cours is ok if not a bit bland. Weather was great but feel it now shows its age and you can see it has been around for a while. The greens were ok, the layout not bad. If you are in the area it is worth a game, but there are better courses around about
A really great course, in good shape and somewhat challenging. We played it immediately after our Old Course round and thus maybe something of an anti-climax.Still, the New Course is over a century old and thus not so New. This epitomising the history of this area.
We had an excellent round here during our pre-Christmas holiday to St Andrews. We arrived without a booking, and after using the clubhouse facilities to change etc., were quickly allocated a tee time. The course took 3.5 hrs to play, and we were lucky to have chosen a day of sunny weather and slight less breeze, which made the whole experience very enjoyable, especially as it was mid-december!The course itself was well looked after, and all the staff encountered during the visit were attentive and helpful, traits which seem to by synonymous with the St Andrews Links organisation. 10/10
To start for a great golf experience the new course is helpful. But the next day or a day after you have to play the traditional Old Course.
Played this course on our recent trip and loved itReminds me very much of The Old Course St Andrews without the signature 1st, 17th and 18thThe whole St Andrews experience is wonderful and the feel of the place is just right, staff, amenities and courses are all set up well loved the experience again
Strong winds made the New Course even more challenging than it already is. Great experience though, this will not have been the last time we went to play.
Not quite as old as the Old Course but just as challenging and much less money to play. A very good test of golf and look out if the wind is up.
I was expecting a lot better having played the Eden but i found it boring. I cannot really remember any of the holes
18 holes of fun golf. Shot a great score even not playing terribly well. Many views the same as from The Old Course. Challenging enough yet forgiving as well.
We found the new course to be a bit boring after playing some of the other courses in the area. It is an excellent course for a high handicapper, however.
The New is a fantastic golf course and a wonderful Links test. Play it if you can and enjoy being part of history
Enjoyed the course aside from the very challenging windy, rainy weather. The caddie that I had was so chatty that the others in our foursome were annoyed with him, as was I also. The caddy definitely did not make this one of my favorite rounds of the trip. Went upstairs & had lunch and a drink afterwards, which was better. Service slow, but good food, even though a bit pricey (but then isn't everything run by Kohler!) .
This is a much tougher course to play than the Old Course. We played this course under the typical Scottish weather . Cold, gusty wind with heavy rain. We managed to finish it in high spirit. Will come back next year.
Smooth fairways and even smoother putting green. Challenging in a whole new way. Very helpful starter and very knowledgable caddies.
