Super grounds, lovely lake take a picnic or visit the cafe Has children's play area which is great. Starting to open up the inside, can't wait to be able to access more rooms, but hope they are furnished.

English Heritage now manage Wrest Park and are doing a great job renovating the gardens which are stunning . The different styles , showing the history of the area over 300 years. The history of the de Grey family is also interesting with the French influence Only a few of the rooms in the house are open to the public, but these give a flavour of the 19th century fine living enjoyed by the upper classes. Lovely walk around the gardens with the orangery, bathhouse and house by the bowling green. You can imagine the life of leisure in these beautiful surroundings . The house was used as a convalescent home in WW1. Lovely place to recuperate far away from the frontline.

My first experience with English Heritage, wonderfully preserved. As with many old English estates they are maintained in beautiful heritage form. Expect lots and lots of walking if you want to see the entire property which I suggest you will want to see. The buildings and gardens are amazing. There is a restaurant on site with all the traditional foods of the British. I was there in July of 2012.

The food was home cooked and delicious. Plenty of seating and staff were very friendly. There are snacks and crisps and hot and cold drinks, ice creams and lovely cakes plus hot soup, quiches and filled rolls. There was an outside area to sit and very lovely views of the lavender plants and roses.

A classic building and landscaped garden only a few miles north of Luton.Lovely tranquil surroundings but best viewed on an exhibition day in good weather. Limited accedd to house but grounds superb.

Really recommend a trip to Wrest Park. English Heritage are undertaking ambitious restoration plans to the gardens and it will be interesting to see them develop. That said, it is lovely to walk around now, acres of land to take a picnic or have a light lunch in the cafe. There is a children's play area, and golf buggy trips around the formal gardens. Some of the rooms in the House are open to the public with an exhibition of the history of the house and grounds. Definitely worth a visit - we enjoyed even in the rain!

If you want a nice relaxing day go to Wrest park. The extensive gardens are the best place to unwind and have a picnic.

Ever since the staff realised my brother and I are direct decendants of Wrest Park, our grandparents met here whilst my grandmother was a maid and my grandfather was convalescing during World War 1, we have experienced a great deal of generosity in terms of their dedication to finding out our family's history. We are regular visitors now.The grounds are a delight, whenever you visit. They seem so different during the different seasons. No matter what event you attend, there is always space. Somehow it always feels tranquil. One can only imagine what a courtship would have been like in such an idyllic setting. For all those romantics out there, this is a must see attraction!

My partner and I visited here in September thinking it would be quiet as we thought the children had gone back to school, they hadn't. Despite this it was still a very peaceful place. The gardens are vast and take a little while to walk around. I felt a bit underwhelmed by the house, it had a lot of good information but only one area set out like a 'home', the rest felt more like a museum. Wrest Park is a lovely place to visit yet I don't think I would return. The gift shop was nice with a good variety of gifts, especially the jams/preserves.

Lovely place, pretty gardens, really helpful staff. I have an English Heritage annual pass (which I got for free with Tesco Clubcard vouchers), so it didn't cost me anything either.

More like a National Trust property than your average English Heritage castle-type site; fabulous and extensive landscaped gardens with delightful outbuildings, wooded glades and waterside walks. The main house itself is largely closed to the public, other than a handful of selected rooms on the ground floor, which is a shame. Modern cafe, shop and loos with plenty of convenient car parking.

This park is lovely and peaceful, kids tight rope, play area for kids. while having a coffee and chat, while kids play. Then a lovely walk round the grounds, and kids to run off some more energy. Great events aswell they do.
