I recently took my wife and two friends for a birthday dinner to the Grill room and we loved it, the steaks were everything you could wish for, I had the 20oz Ribeye and it was fabulous. After the meal we went to the bar for a drink and the manager served us and gave us an impromptu quiz seeing if we could identify an unusual Whisky. This had been our 5th time in the Grill room and we are already looking forward to going again.
Excellent restored water park worth a mooch round in any weather. A park rather than a garden. Mostlly easy paths. Lovely at sunset over the water. But I'm writing today to tell you about the tearoom. I reckon you'll not get a better Bowl of Soup anywhere. Tasty, plump and a big bowlfull and usually a choice. Have it with a Cheese Scone rather than a bun because again you'll not get a better Cheese Scone, baked fresh every day. A perfect lunch.(No charge for the Park but there is for the car park ticket machine)
The minute we arrived we were treat like royalty, lovely room, fantastic food, and excellent service from the staff, especially the Manager
It's a perfect place to take your dog for a walk, we went on a frosty January morning, the swans were literally just slipping all over the place, probably the most entertaining thing about it.Gorgeous views but very limited activity wise, about an hour is all you need to experience the whole place.Cafe at the start does a wonderful hot chocolate.. To die for, much needed for frost bitten fingers.
We love the park and you can get some ducks food in the shop to feed the ducks and swans . Fabulous park and a testament to the park ranger. Thank you for an amazing park
Great little park next to the hotel. Ideal for early morning walk, or after dinner stroll with a torch in winter... Much better in the summer when nights are lighter.
Beautifully maintained and with an excellent Tower Cafe with friendly staff. Fascinating history and brilliant visitor centre. Do sit and watch the video, especially if you have lived in Sedgefield (as we have) and spot some familiar faces!
Hardwick Park is an excellent venue for weddings. Our brother got married at the local church on NYE 2014 and the reception was here.No spense was spared.Excellent customer service.
The park is beautiful . The paths are suitable for wheelchairs and buggies. Good play equipment for children. The café is pleasant with a good selection of food
We have been bringing our children to this park for all there lives, its also a good place for a romantic stroll. The improvents made to the park are very good, my daughter loves the play areas. The coffe shop is ridiculously small and its very hard to get a seat , even on a quiet day.The park itself is well maintained there is a charge for parking.
Fantastic country park lovely walk around the lake good facilities play area toilets and a nice cafe for refreshments
Great location for a country walk, especially if you are having a break at the Hardwick Hall Manor Hotel as this the view you get from the hotel. We stay at the hotel regularly and look forward to having a leisurely walk around the lake before our evening meal and after our hearty breakfast, there is always an abundance of wildlife, there are runners, joggers, walkers, dog walkers, parents pushing or walking children there are adults of all ages walking. the ground under foot on the pathways is well maintained and not too uneven.there are is a play area at the visitors centre/cafe.
this is a little treasure nice play area for kids lovely walks very clean and nice little café, fab scones
Enjoy this well-laid out park with lake & woodland. Maybe spot some wildlife. There is a visitor centre where you can learn about the history & restoration of the park. We had a bite to eat at the cafe. There is also a gift shop. There are various routes through the park designated for horse riders & cyclists as well as an historical route. Dogs can be walked on leads & there is a play area for children - the park is a great place for families. Most paths are surfaced & fairly flat & wheelchairs may be hired free of charge from the visitor centre. Entry to the park is free although there is a £2 parking charge for up to 2 hours of £3 for the day. Durham City Council is responsible for the park.
After a lovely Sunday Lunch, decided to have a stroll in the Park, was cold but nice to walk around and view ares within reach,a lot of people enjoying quality time with families and friends,a haven from the hustle and bustle of modern day life.
