If you are looking for a large busy, noisy commercial campsite, then this is not going to be for you.We loved everything about it, the owners were great and very friendly. The kids loved the freedom and the stream. The power and heat of the shower blew me away, and even though there was only two showers, we never had to wait.

A perfect couple of nights in this fantastic location. Perfect get away from the hustle and bustle in peace and tranquility. Real plus was the beautifully hot shower and clean facilities. Burbling stream, great camp fire and helpful owners helped to make this a memorable trip. Cannot wait to visit time and time again. As others say, don't want to spread the beauty of this site too far afield, as wouldn't want it spoilt! Thanks Simon and Tracey

This placing is heaven, it really is. The owners are so friendly, the place is beautiful and the fact that you have a fire pit close by, what more could you want. I honestly cannot recommend this place enough. Simon the owner sells amazing sausages and burgers etc too, they are amazing.I cannot wait to come back here.My kids, age 4 and 6 loved it, and believe me I am a happy mummy if my kids are happy!!

Having never gone camping before, I was very worried about what we would find at Pool Bridge. I'm not a big fan of commercial places and hated the idea of being on a cramped camp site. I was very surprised to find such a natural area. We arrived quite late in the day but still managed a pitch by the stream, we settled down for the evening with a beautiful camp fire and a coffee when the site owners came around to see everybody. Simon and Tracey were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The children adored helping Simon on his evening rounds and he was brilliant with them. The site is very sheltered being in a natural ravine with trees on both sides. The lack of lighting in the area made the stars a fantastic sight and the children enjoyed seeing the milky way and satellites with their naked eyes. The road from Porlock to the site is a bit of a trial for those who aren't used to single track, twisty, turny roads that are very steep, but the plus side to the means that the site is not populated by massive tourers and caravans. A very enjoyable camp site that we will be visiting again. Great for the children and very relaxing.Heather, Mark, Bethany and Edward

The best place for natural camping, camping at its best toilet shower and water all you really need. The kids love the hills streams and walks.. I wouldn't recommend tho as id hate to turn up and have it filled up with tourists :)

Our second time here with our campervan, this time without dog but with two bikes instead (serious hills !). This is a magical, quiet and phone signal free spot. Also no caravans, very few small motorhomes and populated with very chilled out campers. Simon is brilliant... loads of great advice for us about walking / cycling / open water swimming spots in the area. We had a lovely 6 days based here. It is very basic; only 1 shower per gender, and a couple of sinks. But if that keeps the posh campers away that is fine :-) You get a camping spot next to a stream, stone fire pits with logs you can buy. It is great, wonderful and you should not have to book unless more people find this secret. Exmoor is stunning and amazingly non-touristy. I agree with last reviewer... just go :) you will have a memorable camping holiday.

I had given up on camping in the UK perhaps 5 years ago - due to a previous horrid attempt, but was missing it, and thought I would give it one last chance. I came upon Pool Bridge Campsite on Pitchup.com website and thought I would give it a go as you were permitted campfires. Well, what an amazing place. The most scenic and beautiful campsite in a small valley, surrounded by stunning trees, fernery, and a little creek which you can listen to day and night. Beautiful walks are available just outside the front gate. Basic facilities are provided such as 2-3 sinks etc to wash dishes. Also drinking water.3 toilets and 1 amazing hot shower with awesome water pressure (for women, and I believe a similar provision for men). The toilets / bathrooms are very basic, and not of a sterileness / cleaniness that may be found in caravan parks - I would call it 'rustic'; may not be to everyone's taste / comfort. But if your focus is on the basic batheroom, and not the amazing campsite, then this place is not for you.The owners are the nearby farmers and so terribly friendly and nice. Very family orientated; heaps of children about.I want to go back now. Apparently mid October is a good time to go because the autumn leaves drop and the stags make lots of noise at this time of year.So special.Oh, the drive from Minehead or Porlock to the campsite can be a bit hairy as it is mostly one car lane, and so if you meet another car where there isn't an immediate pull over, it can be tricky when someone needs to reverse.Just go.

Peaceful, quiet, apart from sound of the stream and owls at night. Gorgeous location in valley between trees and trees!!You can light your fire, sit around chatting, drinking, eating in one of the most beautiful campsites in South West England. There is a toilet block with 3 female loos, not sure how many in gents as my group were all female!!! There was a shower with hot water too that worked extremely well.Belfast sink and a stainless steel sink outside block for dish washing.Simon, the owner, comes into camp and you pay for your stay, he's really cool and is happy to stand and chat with his guests, a real friendly man. Lovely Porlock village is easy to get to via the woodland walks with lots of places to eat Have to say this is the most attractive campsite I have ever stayed in and would definitely recommend this site for adults, children and most certainly for all you walkers! You will LOVE it.

Wilderness, pitches along a big stream of running water in the middle of a thick forest valley. Everyones lights a fire along the stream in the evening. A very mixed crowd, a wonderful calm atmosphere. You do have the very basic facilities, you can even have a hot shower, I personally wouldn't like to have anything more. You have everything you really really need in a wild set up. You can even order your local sausages and bacon for breakfast from the very friendly owner who also can provide your logs for your evening fire. Beautiful Porlock village is very close by and of course this is a very good location to base yourself if you want to explore the Lynnmouth to Woody Beach coastline. This is by far the coolest, nicest and wildest campsite that I have been in England. Being by the water and being able to light a fire, it cannot get better for me. Sky highly recomended :)
