As a frequent visitor to the park I love it. In 2014 they planted a swathe of wild flowers the whole length of the lake on the far side from Danson House. It was so beautiful and I am hoping it will be back this year. We love to see the wild life particularly the Egyptian Geese with their young. Its a lovely to walk round and their is also the Old English Garden. The kiosk at the Boat House does a great sandwich.

Big park with a nice area to run. Excellent for families. There is a nice boating club as well with a decent restaurant

Lived in the area all my life and Danson Park has featured heavily throughout. The swing park is loved by the kids, and personally I enjoy a walk around the lake feeding the ducks and squirrels.

We wanted a Carvery but didn't fancy the Sunday scrum at a Toby - a quick Google search bought up The Boathouse at Danson Park. While ever so slightly more expensive than a Toby, it is well worth every penny - you get a choice between a 2 course or 3 course Carvery and the food is delicious, with a plentiful choice and helping of meat and vegetables. Service was fantastic too, just the right amount of attentiveness despite the busy Sunday afternoon! The Boathouse itself is lovely, with huge windows giving you a fabulous view across the lake - beautiful! What a great little find - we will definitely return!

I love Danson Park as it has a wonderful play area for the very young and lots of open space for children and adults to walk, play and just be. It has a wonderful lake with boats and its lovely in the summertime. It hosts lots of functions and has a big house to visit and also the Stables which is a restaurant. It has fireworks in November and Fetes etc in the summer. It has parking space and lots of unusual places to walk and admire nature. It is very well maintained and has lovely flower beds to admire. I would never see all there is to see and its easy to access by car, bus or even trains. Its free to walk in a beautiful park and wheelchair and buggy friendly.

Open space, good for families and dogs! The pub on site not enough staff to service, good place to walk and take the whole family

Went o Monday night for a meal with friend The menu has changed again and the meal (fishcakes ) that was really enjoyable has been taken off such a shame as there is no real replacement The place was freezing and our coats and scarfs were not taken off all night The staff were pleasant this time but no manager present yet again and they did not know how to put the heating on . This place is obviously not for evening meals as atmoshere is bleak cold and uninviting Toilets left a lot to be desired I,m afraid this is the public but could be checked on a regular basis Better than previous week when children were allowed to run all night amongst the tables away from their parents but total disruption for diners Staff informed us that this happens on a regular monthly basis and they cannot do anythiing about it

I used to play in this park as a youngster, 50 odd years ago, living only a few hundred yards away. Then some good few years ago, we brought our children here on the odd occasion to play in the extensive play area. Well that is still there albeit repositioned over the park access roadway close to the Stables restaurant. So much has changed. Yes, the restaurant used to be derelict as did the mansion, now called Danson House and open again after major refurbishment. But the pleasant Old English garden and the rock garden are still there, the latter next to the stream where I used to fish for tiddlers and sticklebacks. Water still looks pretty clean. The lake is larger than I remember, and is a little "scummy" in places, but still full of ducks and geese, and with evidence of still being able to hire boats to take to the water during the summer. The "Charter Oak" takes pride of place on the slope from the mansion to the lake, and what a superb specimen it is, now fenced off (it never used to be). There is a boathouse in the park, close to Danson Road, that I recall being built, and I believe they do ice creams there, although Danson House has a much better looking cafeteria although probably more expensive. There used to be a Lido open air swimming pool over by the A2 of which no trace remains, and a narrow gauge railway alongside the lake, again no trace. The A2 traffic noise is constantly in the background as it is close by, but you can do nothing about that. But, despite this, Danson Park remains a great place to go with family and/or dog, or just alone for a peaceful walk.

Tremendous open space. Lots of room to let off steam - great walks round the lake. Shame the little train and lido are no longer there, but that's progress for you! Wonderful expanse of green in otherwise very built up area.

A great place to be, with so much to do, at any time, any season, with family, friends or on your own :)

Danson park is in Bexleyheath an area of South East London it is a large park and has plenty of parking and can be easily reached by public transport. There is a large lake in the middle of the park and there are boats that can be hired for use on the lake. There is a large swing park and an activity trail around the woods. The park has a restaurant and a cafe for refreshments.

I tend to visit Danson Park most nights as I have 3 dogs. The lake used to be gorgeous but unfortunately for some reason it is now full of weed/algae. My dogs absolutely love swimming there and I am always wary incase they get ill but that does not keep them out of the lake. The grounds are kept beautifully as well and it is really a lovely day out with a picnic and watch the boats on the lake.

Damson is a kind of oasis in the bexleyheath ,welling area a fairly large park with various activities mainly water sports. The grounds are well kept with various type of garden like the old English garden. The pub in the park is not that great but worth a visit. The other drawback is you have to pay £2 to park. But if you want a nice walk among the trees and flora worth an afternoon break.
