What a lovely way to spend a few hours on a sunny day wandering through the rows of different types of lavender picking your own as you go. Top this off with a visit to the shop and tea rooms. Just 'Perfick'
A lovely chilled out way to spend an afternoon picking Lavender and sunflowers, I check before we go it's the right time for picking but always have an afternoon tea.
Have come a couple of times with friends for coffee and lunch in the barn. Good food and good value. The lavender fields are lovely to look at and smell. Good range of lavender products for unusual gifts
Have taken several of my grandchildren here ages range from 4 - 15. They all enjoyed picking the lavender, its a lovely fragrance and such a sight to see. Even the bees ere fascinating as they were more worried about the lavender than you though I would recommend trousers. The café is also very good value often pop in to have a coffee or lunch. Nice things to buy to. On the whole a nice time was had by all and its something different.
This is a great place to visit if you have a spare half day on a weekend or something. Just a pleasant thing to do. Cafe is lovely and serves good cake as well as sandwiches etc. Lovely gifts for sale too. In the summer there is an out door cinema and other treats to look out for. Of course you can always buy lavender there too.
Great place to go with friends or with family or even on your own. Fun times picking lavender with my goddaughters and perusing their little shop. Nice little tea shop too after all that hard work! You have to visit :-)
A lovely way to spend a sunny afternoon wandering up and down the rows of lavender. Scissors are provided to cut your own lavender and you can wander at will picking bunches that you can take home. I had a double-layer muslin-type skirt on and as we came away from the fields I was stung on my thigh and realised that there were bees trapped between the layers of my skirt. I couldn't get them out and got another sting! A lady very kindly helped me pick them out. However, speaking as a gardener, I did not think the lavender had as nice a smell as the ones I grow in my own garden, ditto the lavender oil that I bought, There was a small cafe but did not sample it as very busy (Sunday afternoon)
A well worth trip to this venue just outside Hitchin. Their shop and café is incredibly tempting and hard to resist.also join in the fun and get your bag and scissors and get lose on the hill full of flowering bushes.Great fun. I go at least once a year. great for all.
The staff were lovely , the view is wonderful lavender fields lovely, it is a bit hilly so not good if you can't walk far
A lovely place to visit with friends and family. Purchase food from the café and enjoy sitting inside or out to eat it. I love buying items from the shop as they are very particular to Hitchin. I have made gifts of Hitchin Lavender products to friends all round the world.
What a great afternoon out. Lovely views of the lavender fields stretching as far as the eye can see and able to pick as much as you like too. Is a lovely tea shop to relax afterwards with some lovely gifts for sale. Would highly recommend a visit!!
I like the view , cheap enough although I think you should be given a choice f you want to cut the lavender to take home.
My other half took me for the first time last summer. I've heard about it but never visited. I think we spent at least an hour strolling up and down the lavender cutting our own bunch. The smell is nice if you're into that scent. They also have a shop where you can buy products made from the plants there and also I believe a restaurant.Word of warning! There was literally HUNDREDS of bees there and most of the time they don't care about you being there, but just in case - keep an eye out.
Go see for yourselves ...Open spaceLavender Tea rooms ... Lived in Hitchin for years and finally went to visit the fields and I wasn't disappointed ... It was just totally beautiful ... No negatives!
I am a teenager and I went here with my mum some months back. It is absolutely stunning and smells gorgeous!! The shop is also really cute and sells some lovely products made from the lavender that is grown there! The lavender fudge is a must! Speaking of food... The cafe is also fantastic and sells delicious and non-fussy food. Brilliant!
