The kids loved every minute of it, and we loved the fact you didnt feel you had to rush round.Very well kept, and staff on hand to answer any questions you may have. It is understandably warm so take some water.
A very tranquil place to visit, to sit, relax and enjoy the butterflies! Will be going again, hopefully spend more time there !
A warm tropical greenhouse full of colourful butterflies and an area with meercats and a varied collection of reptiles. Ideal for a visit with children and lots to interest the nature lover.
A good place to visit for l age groups. It is also lovely and warm on a cold day!!! Best to take your time looking at the butterflies and all the surrounding flora and fauna!! Need to take your time to slot some of the smaller species. Well worth a visit.
Visited on a wet Tuesday for something different to do. As other reviewers have mentioned, you could be in and out in around 20 minutes or so. If you take your time and stop and look, however, that's when it becomes enjoyable. Apparently to butterflies are more active in the morning so it may be worth taking this into account if visiting. The add-on with the meerkats etc could do with a little tlc, but again it's good not to rush through it. Be aware if your hair is prone to frizz in humidity you're in for a nightmare.......
3 generations went to visit this attraction and we thoroughly enjoyed it, I have been 3 times before and although it has not changed over the years still worth another visit. Our grandchildren of 7 and 4 loved it and there were so many butterflies and when first walking in you can feel like ducking out of the way of them the children were happy to stand and let the butterflies land on a hand! So many different varieties and colours, beautiful. There are also meercats, snakes and spiders to see in a different area personally I wasn't as keen on this area but the older child liked this area!In the main butterfly area there are seats to relax and enjoy the small waterfall and goldfish and watch the flutterings. It is very hot inside the attraction so leave some heavy coats in the car before the visit.
For the price you pay to get in there is quite a lot to see and really interesting bothy young children enjoyed it although the rest of my family started to overheat quickly as a chef I was fine but you can go in n out as you please friendly staff made for a nice time
I decided to visit here to end a lovely Sunday with my family. We have two children aged 8 and 2. They both really loved it especially when the butterfly's were landing on us. The fish, meerkats and reptiles are a good addition too. It's not expensive and there's plenty more outside at Preston park too. Well worth a visit, great photo opportunities as well
It has been a couple of years since we last visited Butterfly world and it looks as if it has been in a time warp. The actual butterflies and plants are still amazing, but it looks in need of a revamp. Before you go in have a bet with the other members of your party on how many butterflies will land on each person, the one with least can buy the ice creams at the kiosk in the Park grounds ;-) .
This was an amazing place to visit and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting this area. As we entered the building, we received a very warm welcome from the lady behind the desk who answered all of our questions in a very helpful way. The entrance fee was very reasonable and well worth the money. We entered the butterfly area and were amazed from the very first moment. There were beautiful butterflies everywhere - so many different types too. There was so much to see and experience. My family and I spent about an hour in this area - enjoying the beauty of nature. It was good that there were a few seats available so that you could just sit and enjoy everything! This is a wonderful place for people of all ages and a place that you could visit regardless of the weather outside. A useful tip: Wear light clothing as it is very warm in the butterfly area!
Lovely calming and warm environment for all to enjoy. Flutterblies everywhere, twas lucky enough to be landed upon several times. Will be back
Was a lovely addition to our day out... And it entertained the kids for a fair amount of time. Only ridicule is that after about 10 minutes you loose interest although they are still very pretty. Recommend this place but be warned, the prices may not be worth the visit.
We were at Preston park and going to butterfly world was part of the planCombined with the museum (superb) and the park (excellent) this was also a great venueWe spent an hour inside and really were amazedThe butterfly's landed on us and were everywhereEnchanting for my fairy obsessed 5 year old. At only £13 for a family to key it's excellent value and we will go again There is also a meerkat family and some reptiles to see together with some gorgeous koiWe would happily go back again
Such a bargain for a lovely place. Love the flora, such beautiful orchids and butterflies so pretty and so many. Also love the meerkats. Staff very friendly.
We decided to visit butterfly world at Preston park with our 2 daughters (7&4) and were not disappointed. Our youngest daughter has autism and loves all animals and insects so we knew it would be perfect for her. The butterfly area was beautiful and my girls loved seeing the butterflies a couple landed on my eldest daughters hand and a few landed on our youngest daughters head she was in her element there were some lovely moments. The second room had some lizards and snakes and some very cute meerkats. It was very well priced and we will definitely return. afterwards we had a picnic in the park and our girls enjoyed the play area and a nice cream. Lovely family fun :)
