An interesting museum with plenty of interesting exhibits and knowledgable and helpful staff. A perfect reminder of the true origins of Hastings.

A compact little museum with lots to see. Centre piece is the Enterprise, a traditional fishing vessel - and you can get on board!A great range of objects, all related to the life of the local fishing community.

Dont miss it - cost nothing and it is wonderful. Absolutely charming. I found it very thought provoking. It so good I visit it every few years.

A fascinating mix of objects. The star is the fishing boat in the centre of the museum that children can climb up onto.

This is a really interesting visit and it is free, try to speak to Jimmy Toller a true fisherman, he has a wealth of knowledge

This is a small museum, made even smaller by a real fishing boat being placed in the middle, but it's just superb, really explains the nuts and bolts (line and sinker?) of the fishing history of this area. Models, real things, examples, old, new, relics and interpretations, it just had it all. Admission is free but we kicked a fiver in the kitty because we liked it so much. If you are short of time in Hastings, hit this and the Shipwreck Museum. If you have kids do this one first! Make sure you admire the building that now houses the museum, the former Fisherman's Chapel, as well, it's a gem. I don't believe it has a bathroom, so time yourself accordingly.

A lovely little bit of history for all ages. Watch the film of how they land fishing boats in storm force weather for a real eye opener!

It reflects complete past and memories of people who respected sea and made it possible to show the glory through this museum

Full of fish 'n chips from visiting Maggie's, we found ourselves on the far side of the restored fishermen's huts looking to avoid the onset of hybrid rain / snow - The Fishermen's Museum was the refuge we sought. Situated in a former chapel, this collection houses a full size actual fishing boat along with the expected framed and mounted exhibits. The short film clip shown at the back on a loop gives a very good idea how hazardous prevailing conditions can be.Of particular interest to me were the stuff albatros ( demonstrating its wingspan ) and the replica of the largest plaice ever caught ( in Rye bay ) as we had just consumed one of its similarly sized close relatives in Maggie's !!Nice gifts and books to buy, the staff are friendly and this attraction is FREE.

We visited on Friday when it was bitterly cold. The museum is small enough for little people to enjoy but packed full of photos & information for adults too. The DVD is extremely interesting to watch. The staff were friendly and helpful. Definetly worth a visit. Please give a donation for such a good cause.

Interesting-free museum, on the front of old Hastings in amongst the huts where the fishermen dried their nets. Really interesting and friendly staff
