Quick walk from Windermere for a sensational view of the Lake. Breathtaking scenery across Windermere to the snow capped fells.

It was quite steep but did not take as long as I had expected. Definitely worth the climb as you get a very clear view of Lake Windermere. It was very windy once arriving at the peak, but was nice to be able to sit down on a bench to take in the scenery. A must do!

Right outside of the hotel, great views in all directions once your at the top, well worth the climb, hard work for those who are not fit though !

A short, easy walk with amazing views at the top! About 15mins up at an easy pace! Don't miss out if you are in Windermere and have a spare half hour!

Fab views. It is a steep walk. But only 20 mins. The views are well worth the effort. There are many routes up and down so explore to make it more interesting. Don't forget your water and camera. One of The entrances is at the bottom of the Windermere hotel car park....

Our final climb - not too high but still had a stunning view.We just wish it had been that clear our entire visit.

An easy uphill walk to a viewpoint over Lake Windermere. Worth the walk on a good clear day. Sadly the day we went up it was ofggy but surprisingly we werent the only ones

A short but steep climb from edge of the town (near the railway station) but sutable for children. Not a high hill but has good views over the lake

The views when you get to the top are are some the best in the area and a great place to spend an hour make sure you have a camera also sensible shoes as there will be some climbing but worth the climb , if you take food with you please bring your litter back .

This was one of Wainwright first views of the lakes and you can see why he rated it.The view from the top is breathtaking.You do need walking shoes as it can be slippy in places and is not wheel chair friendly but well worth hike up.The walk up takes around twenty minutes.

Great views and a short walk away. We followed a circular route to Ambleside and returned via the ferry.

Just a little hike up the hill and you can enjoy lovely views of the lake and the hills nearby. Very popular and easy to reach even for children. Just walk past Windermere Hotel and up the hill on the left.

My wife and I tried to climb to the top of orrest head but the climb starts off on a tarmac road we made to the top of the road that's as far as we gotI use a walking stick but this doesn't help when you try to walk on rocks and mud .If you are fit and healthy I am sure you will enjoy the summit of orrest head but I am sorry we cannot help with any comments on the summit views.Windermere is a fantastic place to go .Fluffyessex1

Very easy walk to find and complete , going through a small Woodpecker filled wood, opening up on to a small hill with a view that will blow your mind. It takes about twenty minute to reach the top and you must complete this walk to really enjoy what we all take for granted, the beauty of The Lakes. The more adventurous should walk on to Allen Knott's, it's a couple of mile further but does give a different aspect to the area.
