Great family place to visit. Take a ball and a picnic. Stay all day. parking is a little expensive. Also need change for the parking machines as they don't give change.
We went today (feb 21st) it was freezing!! But me, my mum and my two kids (4&2) loved it!!! Crazy golf was brilliant the boys really enjoyed it. We went to the zoo which although is small the kids thought was fab as the peacocks came really close and they could see everything really well. The park was fab. The kids loved the choice of toys. The cafe was reasonably priced. The kids meal was £4 and they got a Walton Hall Gardens badge, a drink, a large sausage roll, a fruit bag and a yogurt. The sandwich we had was really nice and the hot chocolate was to die for ( would strongly suggest adding the cream and the marshmallows!!) The kids enjoyed pottery painting which for what they got was £8.50 and it gave us chance to warm up and thaw out a bit!! Will be going again in the summer!!
We enjoyed our visit to the gardens. It was November very cold but nice to walk around. We were visiting family in Warrington and they recommended this place.
Lovely park for children, lovely walks, beautiful gardens, nice little zoo. an enjoyable day out. My little one really enjoys pottery in the park in the holidays and the train rides around the garden.
Walton hall gardens are worth a visit, beautiful surroundings but if you ever go to Warrington take the time to walk over Howley suspension footbridge and then spend a pleasant hour or so in Victoria Park. This Bridge is around 100 years old and is hidden gem in Warrington rarely seen by visitors. It will take some finding so "google first for pictures and directions.
fantastic free entry to a fantastic park grandchildren love it we love it because it has every thing pitch and putt kids zoo and much more
Although technically no fee you do have to pay for parking. Lovely grounds, mini zoo, hall and ground used as location for Our Zoo tv show. Big playground and small cafe and museum on site. Nice place to play and walk dog.
Everything for all the family young and old. Nice gardens, small zoo, nice playground . Nice day out
good if you have children and couples. yo can see animals, play crazy golf or go for a walk. a couple of pubs are nearby too.
Nice space to run around in. Children's Zoo and playground for climbing and swinging. Nice tea room. Open air, trees, grass, rose garden and formal beds with areas of woodland. Nice afternoon out.
A fantastic day out whether or not you have kids. This is unbeatable for a cheap day out with kids. The play area is great with the Zoo close at hand, there is always an ice cream van by the play area. The gardens are always maintained beautifully and are landscaped to perfection. All important clean and working toilet , and the Heritage Café is very good, were you can buy drinks and snacks.Prices are really cheap so you don't have to break the bank.
Have been going since I was a kid and now taking mine! Love the fact that the zoo is free and that the park has lots to play on. Really pleased to see improvements being made to the hall, we regularly walk here on a weekend. Lucky to have it on our doorstep. Great fun for all the family at any age!
I grew up visiting Walton Gardens regularly and this year I was lucky enough to introduce my baby daughter to the Gardens. The park is great for children of all ages from toddlers to teenagers. The little zoo is also lovely and hasn't changed much in over 20 years. There is also a pitch and put, Walton Hall and a cafe onsite. We will definitely be back in the summer and for many years to come!
Large park for kids to blow off steam, park area for teenagers, animal farm, events on all through the year. Our favourite park
Just a short walk down the canal brings me to Walton Hall. Only recently moved to the area this is a lovely place to have close by. Great for families or just for a casual wander round. It does feel like there are elements that need maintaining or updating better (Such as the news about the conservatory) but given it's the off season it may have just been overlooked.Children are well catered for, the facilities are very good and I'm already looking forward to seeing what it's like in the spring / summer!
