Our second visit, its lovely to see the horses and of course donkeys. Not the best weather but we enjoyed seeing the animals being looked after by cheerful staff who spoke to the children. We had planned to have hot drinks and cake at the end but the girl behind the counter was intent in cleaning so we didn't bother but made a willing donation in the envelope provided.

Hi Bev, thanks for your review and all your fantastic support for Redwings! We are so sorry that you did not feel your experience of receiving a Donation Envelope was a positive one during your recent visit. We aim to give each and every visitor an envelope so that they have the choice to make a donation at the end of their visit if they wish to. We would love to think that all our visitors are as kind and generous as you and your Dad, but sadly having signage and information alone informing people about how they can help does not reach everyone. By highlighting the envelope we hope to give people a choice, as well as encourage them to help if they can (even 50p make a big difference!). As you will know as a Redwings adopter, we are funded 100% by donations and all the profits from the sale of gifts, cake and adoptions goes towards caring for our rescued horses. So, however you choose to help, we are very grateful. I am so sorry that this gratitude did not come across. We will ensure that the team at Redwings Oxhill are careful to deliver the Donation Envelopes to visitors in a positive manner and that they are respectful of the other ways a visitor may already give to support. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and help us improve the way we welcome our visitors and communicate with valued supporters like yourself.

Easily accessible. Lots of parking. We went on a rainy day and it was still well worth a visit. Staff were more than happy to talk to us and answer any questions we have (we were asking about a pony in quarantine who had recently been rescued). We also saw two horses being loaded into a horsebox for the first time and this was brilliantly explained and the natural horsemanship methods explained. The shop was brilliant with a wide choice of souvenirs. The cafe was a bit overpriced but the food was nice.Being able to walk around and see the horses/ponies/donkeys in your own time and in a natural environment where they looked at ease was brilliant. There were special stands/booths with information and games and handy tips/learning points throughout the site. A brilliant educational tool and fun too.

Nice place to visit lovely horses and they do fantastic work there..worth a visit. Not a full day as there are just the paddocks. Cafe just served sandwiches and cakes which was ok but we went somewhere else. Nice place though we adopted a horse and would go back though.

This was our first visit to this amazing place, where rescued horses, ponies and donkeys are given new homes. You can walk among the paddocks and view the animals at your leisure, and there are many interesting displays with much information that will enhance your knowledge of these super-intelligent animals. There is also a good gift shop and tea room. Everything is super-clean, and admission is free. They welcome donations towards the upkeep of the animals, and you can also adopt an animal for just £12.50 a year! This lovely place makes a great visit for adults, children, families of any age group. Admission is free and there is no parking charge.

We have visited the sanctuary in Norfolk twice and whilst on holiday this year we visited the one in Warwickshire. It was lovely to see the horses, ponies and donkeys so well cared for and a bonus is the admission is free, a rare occurrence in this day and age. As always, I visited the gift shop and purchased several items as well as leaving a donation. If places like this didn't exist, what would happen to the poor unfortunate animals does not bear thinking about. Well done all of the staff who obviously care so much about whAt they do.

What a fantastic place. We took our two son's, and of course on the day we went the adopted pony and mule would not come over to say 'hello'. Grass! So, one of the members of staff offered to bring them to us! Simply wonderful. Staff are lovely, so helpful, and Angie in the gift shop was very helpful indeed. The staff all seem to have a deep love for the wonderful horses, ponies , donkies and mules. Its a really peaceful and calm place to be. a little cafe there serves tea and coffee, and juice for kids, which is clean and pleasant. A small little play area for kids is great too.I can't praise this place enough, and urge you to go, horse lover or not! You will be when you leave!

Indirectly we have been supporting Redwings for years my sister sends our stamps on to a former work colleague of her who then sends them to Redwings. We did a detour from our usual route and came across it. What a fantastic place the horses donkeys etc so well looked after and a great sanctuary. Information signs gave you and insight of why the were here as well as informative ones as well so very educational. After a walk round the paddock we had refreshment at the nosebag café. We had a lovely ploughmans with ham and cheese and tea the lady on explained she was on her own as the other member of staff had gone home early and we would have a little wait, she was with us in no time at all and explained because we were eating later than most people she had run out of the bread they normal serve she said she had white or granary would that be ok? That was fine with us l think there bread is baked locally she was ever so helpful and accommodating, there is an indoor café and outdoor are just outside but a word of warning in the wind is in the wrong direction you will get essence of our equine friends which is only to be expected and not a problem for us. There were water bowls for our canine friends as well. Great gift shop. Free entrance, donations appreciated The whole place was clean smart timber building, disabled accessible. Great unexpected stop. There is a childrens play area they are revamping

Nice few hours looking a horses and donkeys. My girls and sister enjoyed chalking on new chalkboardFree to get in, with a gift shop and somewhere to have a cuppa we took a picnic .The only thing was that playarea was being redone and was last year when we visited. As a lot of children were there maybe that could have been better
