sleight at the cellar bar

We came upon this by chance whilst staying in bath. We went into the pub upstairs and saw the flyers for the sleight bar. It was brilliant! We were there for the while evening after the show started, it was a Thursday night and quiet but that made it more personal for us.

We were staying in Bath and stumbled on this little gem.The food was reasonably priced and the helpings were generous.The chief Lou would come out and have chat and made us feel welcome.If you are going to bath you must drop into the Slieght.

I hired a 20 seat booth for my husbands birthday. Really great night. Booth hire and drinks are good value. Good atmosphere. Paul's magic esp the show he did for the group was amazing. Despite some of our lads trying to see how it's done Paul's just too quick. Bar staff good too. Really recommended especially for a group. All my friends loved it.

This is a great bar, I'd be happy to pay to watch the tricks. Must see. So unique. Must use 100 characters here.

We went here on Saturday evening. Paul is absolutely amazing. Close up magic like you've never seen before. Lovely atmosphere and very welcoming.

After seeing the krowd keepers magic performance we went downstairs to the sleight bar for a drink and to watch the card magic we heard about. Amazing does not do it justice my girlfriend and I were enthralled and sat there for about 1 1/2 hours watching trick after trick after trick. I seriously recommend this even for the sceptics!!

Truly MAGICAL place! I love my Ales & Cider so i was pleased to see so many to choose from! Bubbly atmospheric warming pub on street level but downstairs is where the real magic happens!... no seriously :)Epic cocktails & AMAZING mind blowing magic that I can GUARANTEE will leave you speechless, The owners Paul & Sarah were so friendly and looked after me and my partner like royalty :D.Such a good night out and is definitely a MUST VISIT venue! You won't be disappointed.

My husband and I visited Sleight bar whilst we were in Bath based on the fantastic reviews. I am sorry to say that I did not seem to enjoy it as much as everyone else. We arrived at about 10:30pm on a Saturday night and ordered a couple of cocktails, which were very nice! There seemed to be an area of the bar set aside for the magician, but there were only a handful of chairs around the table, all of which were full. Although we were sat next to a television screen showing the magic it was difficult to follow due to the lack of sound. The impression I got about this bar was that the magician(s) would be circulating around groups in the bar rather than being stationed in one place.The rest of the bar was just like a regular bar.It could be that we came on the wrong night or didn't stay long enough, but this bar was not quite what I was expecting.

the magician Paul is an incredible magician. He had me and my friends mesmerized throughout the evening. He is highly skilled and personable. If you want to go out in Bath and have a great time then you must go to the Ale House and visit Sleight. Drinks and magic. What more can one want. Going back again soon!

I wasn't expecting to go out on Fri night but I'm so glad my friend suggested we went here... We had a few drinks from the bar (free entrance) and had a fantastic time. Paul, the magician, performed behind a bar at the back of the premises in a fairly informal setting. I sat at the bar and had front row seats, altho still couldn't work out how he was doing the tricks! Mostly card action, with some coins, foamy balls and other surprises thrown in along the way. Plenty of audience interaction and everyone kept looking at one another in disbelief...highly recommend!

My husband and I saw Paul at the Sleight Bar last weekend whilst on a romantic getaway, we stayed for about 2.5 hours as I personally couldn't tear myself away! Good clean mesmorising fun! Will definitely tell all, and go back as soon as we can! Just excellent! We went to the paid magic show upstairs 1st, which was cute and lovely and highly recommended too - but this was a whole other level, so clever!! Huge fan now!The venue itself could have a lot more to it, but it's all about the magic to be fair!

I had an overnight stay in Bath this weekend and popped out in the evening for a few drinks. The first place we called into was The ale house.The bar was busy but there was a very friendly welcoming atmosphere . The bartender told us of the magic bar downstairs and the next show started at 9 and there was an extensive cocktail bar. We decided to stay for the show and were blown away by the close up magic of Paul Brookes. What a fantastic show and what a crowd!! I could have watched for hours. Mesmerising magic and fantastic cocktails :) definitely worth a visit and we will be taking our friends back for a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Thank you for a great evening Paul and Sarah, we will certainly be back :)

Never had so much fun taking part in incredible magic. The best part was the Ice! Loved looking around and seeing all my friends laughing and enjoying themselves more than ever!

Went last night and Paul was the magician. He was awesome, good banter and a great entertainer.Good range of cider too.

Totally amazing. Been a few times and every time I'm amazed. Paul is outstanding. Such a friendly atmosphere to. Highly recommend. Magic and cocktails what more could you ask for.
