What a wonderful family day out! The staff were very friendly and could not be more helpful and the rides were brilliant for the little ones. I know several people made reference to the park needing a lick of paint and updating but what child is going to care about the standard of the paint work? My three year old had the time of his life and was smilling all day long and he absolutely loved it.
I visited sundown today with my 3 year old son. We had a fabulous day! The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the rides were great. It was nice to go to a theme park where the are no age restrictions on rides. We also enjoyed the storybook village, the indoor soft play and the angry birds park. All in all a great value fun day out!
We visited whilst staying in the nearby Sherwood forest pines (30mins away) and we were not disappointed. You are immediately transported into a world of make believe, fairy tales and fun. We easily spent the whole day on site and found the cafe's well stocked and the items priced cheaply compared to other attractions we have visited. Our little one (aged 2) loved the numerous free rides in the different areas of the park, along with the numerous indoor and outdoor play areas. She still tells everyone about the sweetie castle a month later.Yes some attractions were out of order and being worked upon, and some were looking a bit tired but we visited in the off season and there was work being carried out to get the place ship shape for the busier summer months which was to be expected. This in no way detracted from our visit and we will be returning when we are next in the area.
me and my partner used to come here as children so to bring our own little boy should have been excited. we paid our £26.00 which was fine till we walked in. so shabby and run down. it was not only unclean but so unkept. i know things outside are going to get mucky but half the stuff had paint peeling off and the other half had legs missing, or other buts completely not working. i just feel if you are not willing to keep the place looking nice and fresh you shouldnt be charging that amount . it was extortionate to be honest for the quality of things
This theme park is aimed for young children up to the age of 6 a 7 years. It seems quite dated. The staff were very friendly. Nice size cafe and play area, the food was not very good.
We visited Sundown adventure in December for the xmas spectacular and we had a great time, the xmas spectacular is fantastic, it’s really magical and well thought about for small children, my children (age 3 and 1) really enjoyed it, the santa ride is well worth going on, the presents were a bit naff compared to other santas grottos but the ride and the whole lead up to santa was fantastic. The only downside to the xmas ride was the staff at the santa’s sleigh were miserable as sin, they seated us on a ‘sleigh’ and I asked if they could take 1 photo quickly and one guy went and asked someone else and they said no but later I saw them taking pictures of other families so really disappointed about that.As for the rest of the park, it’s great for small children as it’s all their size, little rides, lots for them to play with and explore but the whole park is very dated, it’s like walking into a time machine, some of the attractions/themes were from my childhood so when I saw them I recognised them but my kids had no idea who half the people/themes were but having said that, as they are small kids, they didn’t care and still loved it.It could do with being refurbished as its quite old and tatty and really showing it’s tiredness, however, its very reasonable in price and the children don’t notice things like it’s dated and tired looking, just the adults. We noticed some of the staff were brilliant, very enthusiastic and friendly which is exactly what you need with the kids and other staff were just miserable and looked like they really didn’t want to be there. Most people bought picnics which in winter you can eat indoors in one of the cafes which we were very impressed with because usually you need to buy something and eat that in cafes etc so that’s a good thing about this park, being able to bring your own food and drinks, especially good when you have fussy little ones.Overall, it’s a nice little day out for the little ones, I would recommend it.
My boys were really excited to visit the angry bird section of the park. They fully loved every section while we were there. And wanted to go back the week after.
This is probably the 6th time we have been to Sundown which says it all really! We knew the weather wasnt going to be cracking but there is so much do inside and out that you dont even notice! We were pleased to see that it has had a bit of an overhaul. There were lots of new things added. 2 new rides, a new set of bridges and walkways with interactive things along the way, and other bits! It cost £13 each to get in but there are no hidden costs inside (except the gift shops which are a bit overpriced) but the food is reasonable!Overall this park has got so much to do, the kids love it and never get bored and you definitely come away feeling like you have had a funfilled day and got your money's worth! Highly recommended!
Well priced and plenty to do with no hidden costs once you get into the park. We heard that the food wasn't all that special so took a picnic and found a nice undercover picnic area. We went in quiet season so the queues were fine and the soft play was clean and well thought out.
We come to Sundown every year and my kids love it. We've also been at Christmas time to visit Santa and thought it was fab and magical. There's lot to do indoor and outside play for all weathers. Its reasonably price and so is the food places.
Once you are in everything except the refreshments is free - rides for all ages especially those pre teens [accompanied]
I loved this place when i took my 2 now older children so i wanted to revisit with my 4 yr old.It hasnt changed much apart from play areas. Food ! Why oh why do attractions keep giving us processed food all the time, what we want is homemade simple stuff like soup, veg sticks and dips, proper sausages not cheap crap ones. baked pots, pasta and bol, just a few examples. I think we all agree if its good you dont mind paying a little extra for it. Because i would rather have something homemade and fresh than pay £3-4 for a hotdog or cheap burger and chips(sick of seeing these as a choice ! Apart from food it needs updating smells really fusty everywhere in little houses and entertainment huts etc. Such a shame its upkeep is low.
Well priced day out for the kids, plenty attractions that the little ones love. Plenty to do for a full day out, inside and outside play for all weathers and a realistic approach to food allowing families to picnic in the designated areas, which is a massive boon.
Sundown is a brilliant day out for families especially with youngerchildren, good value for money and friendly staff, there's lots of rides and playground adventures to keep the little ones amazed, there's daily shows and two big indoor areas for if the weather should turn, there's lots of picnic areas to enjoy lunch or you could pop to one of the many cafes, only problem I find is in summer there are many wasps which can be a pain especially when eating.
I used to visit here regularly as a child. It was a pleasure to visit again as a teacher. Whilst I have to agree with a lot of the points the negative reviews are making, for example the park looks tired. I think it is a fun filled, enjoyable day out for under 8s. A lot of the equipment is still the same as when I was younger but our children loved it!! Especially the boat barrel ride, which we were able to ride several times. The park is magical and very interactive. Children are encouraged to touch things and explore. There are plenty of outdoor and indoor playgrounds too. You can also purchase food in several locations and there are plenty of toilets. My only criticism is that one of the rides closed earlier than expected. We had about 180 pupils with us and had definitely contributed to a significant amount of the park's income that day as it was quite quiet! However, when I spoke to one of the staff about allowing us to ride he was not happy to respond to our request. A real shame as the timetabled slots they had given us meant that even rushing around the park - Which I did to ensure the children could ride everything meant that we still didn't have the time needed. I have recommended you to many families so sort it out Sundown.. You are such a fantastic establishment and I wouldn't want it to ruin anyone's experience!
