This gallery I visit every now and then, not as often as my husband, but still pretty frequently. Normally one would expect a gallery like this to be in Berlin, London, New York or even Amsterdam for that matter, but it is in Groningen!There are many exhibitions every other month or so and artists, painters, sculptors, from all over the world exhibit here. The quality is fantastic and the way it is exhibited is just stunning. These guys know how to present an exhibition. There is very nice sculpture garden at the back. You can buy, rent paintings, drawings and sculptures. Very often there is one of the artists present. And the range of exhibitions varies from paintings/sculpturess by 1 or 2 painters/sculptors to exhibition on a specific subject, such as Olympic games in China etc.Beautifully located closely to the northern train station and the plantsoen park. A must see if you are interested in (gay) art.

This is a first rate gallery and art centre for those particularly interested in gay themes. It is run by a very friendly and experienced couple.

This time I went to see the exhibition called "Dual" Yet again the selection of artists exposing was excellent. As is always very nice at the openings in Galerie Mooiman: the exhibition is opened by interesting people, and most of the time the artist is present for an informal chat.

Een galerie waar je nog echt welkom bent, tekst en uitleg kunt krijgen op momenten als je dat wilt en vaak een wisselende collectie om te bewonderen.

Geweldig wat de jongens hier doen. Ze breken internationaal door met tentoonstellingen over mannenkunst. De mooiste beelden en schilderijen halen ze naar Groningen en verplaatsen ze naar nationale beurzen en exposities op andere continenten. Altijd maatschappelijk betrokken en politiek bewust, op een doordachte manier: niet provoceren maar realiseren. Tot in de sovjetunie. Als je in Groningen bent, moet je hier zeker even langs gaan.
