My house faces this amazing canal.Kings day or Concert Day or Gay Parade are highlightsBut just a simple walk is great enoughPerfect place for beer, brunch, coffee and everything you wanted to do in AmsterdamLot of memories and of course great pictures :)
This place is a great shopping area and somehow you end up seeing it multiple times. We must have walked past the area about 4 times in our three day visit.
One of the nicest places in Amsterdam. Beautiful canal with old Amsterdam style houses bordering. Nearby lovely quaint shops nearby to browse.
A perfect place to stroll around, having a small beer or coffee between the small, and interesting shops. Calming atmosphere in the heart of Amsterdam.
One of Amsterdam's most beautiful bodies of water. A walk along one of the canals in Amsterdam during the day and at night is a must for anyone wishing to experience Amsterdam at it's finest.
Stroll this canal and enjoy it's architecture ,history and atmosphere, whether it is in daylight or night time when the lights appear on bridges and along the streets.
We walked this canal many many times and always saw different things. An absolute must for a stroll.
Take a stroll along this lovely canal, night time it is superb, nice bar's,cafe's and restaurant's in this area to pop in and have a beer ,coffee or a bite to eat.It does not matter if it's winter, summer, autumn or spring, each season hold's it's own charm.A trip on the river cruisers is a much do,really interesting, you will take some fantastic photogragh's.If you go to Prinsengracht, you will remember it for a long time.
There are more than one hundred kilometres of canals, about 90 islands and 1,500 bridges! We viewed this from a cruise boat so also got the history. You can also walk along each side as well. Lots of history with this, one of the three main canals which are:- Herengracht, Prinsengracht, and Keizersgracht, dug in the 17th century during the Dutch Golden Age, form concentric belts around the city, known as the Grachtengordel. Alongside the main canals are 1550 monumental buildings. The 17th-century canal ring area, including the Prinsengracht, Keizersgracht, Herengracht and Jordaan, were placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2010. I suggest walking but also the cruise will give you a different perspective
Lovel trip on the canal as part of our cruise, lots of beautiful house, as we were told quite expensive, mostly only available for rent to firm offices. Anyhow, amazing for the traveler's eye.
it is simply beautiful and rich....especially at nightthough I bet there are lots of junk thrown in the canals (like most canals in Amsterdam)but I still love it!
Take your time and look around and up and down, there is so much to see and so many places to call in to for a coffee or a beer. The canals are the life blood of Amsterdam.
It was a chilly walk but the canals sights were just pleasant and relaxing. Lights coming from the amiable homes. Canal cruises tours cruising through the lighted bow canals. Romantic !
Walk this incredibly picturesque area of Amsterdam! A bike will make the trip too quick. Savor your time. A one of a kind experience not to be missed.
