I recommend for you to begin at the top entrance of the park (which is situated on Avenida Parque street) and walk down towards the sea. Nice and relaxing. There are several football pitches which you can rent. Many benches to sit. Very good area for families to take their children!
Not sure this park was worth the time it took to get to it, or its position as #4 attraction in Porto. We strolled around the lake, which was nice enough but the park seemed to lack amenities - Couldn't find a cafe.Think it's a great park if you live in Porto and want open space for recreational activities. Would not recommend it if you only have a couple of days to discover the city.
This a very large park in Porto, near the beach. It is very well maintained and provides a breath of fresh air right were you need it.
This is a large park that ranges from Boavista to Foz, in Porto. It is inside the city but it feel like you are outside it. It was extended to reach the sea. It is wonderful for outdoor activities.
This Park is the Porto version of Hide Park ( London) but better. This park is the largest urban park in Portugal with 83 hectares and 10km of walk pathways. You can walk all the way down to meet the sea at the Atlantic Ocean. On your way your will pass áreas with lakes, a lot of greenery, sorrounded by trees etc. If you come here on a Sunday, if will find all the people of Porto, enjoying this park. You have people jogging, riding a bike, playing football, playing with their kids, walking, meditating, feeding the local ducks or just soaking in the Porto sun. A place romatic place to visit.
My favorite escape place from the crowded Porto. Great place for relax, even to ride bike, run, or do yoga. There's a lot of places to hide from everyone. The best part is walking out straight to the ocean.
More than 40 ha in Porto, lakes, amazing trees, an old stone village, excellent for trekking, jogging...and rest !
This is a gorgeous park where you can spend a whole day in if you have the time. It is huge so you don't feel crowded
Imagine walking around in a city park and feel that it is exactly what you have always looked for in your life.Oporto´s Parque da Cidade is wide and open, rich in its flora, as two amazing lagoons and several sports infrastructures. Is perfect for walking and be in close contact with nature, is great for riding a bike and roll down the green hills with kids or friends. It is not at all boring as it has valleys and hills, lots of different trees, great paths and sights to discover and above all an amazing scenic ocean view. In fact, it is the only european city park that is connected to the beach and to the ocean. So, if it is summertime a swim must not be forgotten. And as it is so safe you can even go for a walk in the night.Once in Porto, try its City Park. It is one of the best pleasures this city has to offer you. Imagine indulging yourself at open air.
Although slightly out of the way for tourists, it would be a real shame to come to porto and miss out on this park. It's huge, but if you just to wander through it then you can cut across in about 25 minutes. It's been beautifully looked after without being overly cultivated. Lots of wildlife, beautiful water features and spots to exercise or sit down. Every know and then you stumble on stone monuments and lakes. Despite being near the busy Avenida, it is astonishingly peaceful and quiet inside the park.Would thoroughly recommend for a wander, picnic or even a run as it's popular with joggers.
the biggest park in Porto lets you have a great time.It has a lot of outdoor facilities (running tracks, football fiels, picnic spots, etcs) that will allow you to have some relaxed time in the busy porto.
An architecture of nature that makes us feel good, calm, good atmosphere. It's big, 1 hour to walk all the way around. One of the best parks I've ever been. Is connected to the sea side.
Spent about an hour walking along the long Rua da Boavista, a major but ordinary street through Porto. We were observing a marathon that ran along the course. At the end of this 5km street there is a large urban park which beautifully breaks up the urban sprawl and leads you on a lovely stroll to the ocean. If your travel experience is getting too much, take a detour out here and lose all your worries.
If you stay long enough it is for sure a very nice visit, because besides being a nice park it ends on the beach.
This is the lung of Porto!!! It's a wonderful place full of green, pathways, little lakes and trees. It's the ideal place for your jogging and workout or for a simple walking away from the traffic and city's stress! It'a a real immersion in the nature...I'm a Runners Coach and I use to do my "work" (workout) in the "Parque da Cidade do Porto": for me it's a pleasure and I love it!
